Vermont Information Processing is seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer 1 to join our automated testing team, a development group that builds, executes, and maintains Java-based automated testing tools. This position will test web services, stored procedures, web and mobile UIs, and other programs written in a variety of languages and running on a variety of platforms.
Position Type: Full Time, Hybrid - will be required to report to our office in Colchester, VT
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enhancing the quality of our software products through testing
- Contributing breadth and depth to our overall testing infrastructure
- Developing, publishing, and implementing test plans
- Writing and maintaining automated test suites
Requirements:
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and communicate status to complete complicated projects independently and on time
- At least 3 years experience in software testing
- At least 2 years experience in Java, C#, or C++, and SQL
Desired Skills:
- A working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
- Selenium or Appium
- JUnit or TestNG
- IBM iSeries, DB2, and RPG
- ExtJS / Sencha JavaScript frameworks
- SVN / Git / Source Control
- Linux / CentOS
