VIP is seeking a Business Analyst on our eoStar team. In this hybrid position, you will ensure the success of products in the eoStar Route Accounting System. The Business Analyst (BA) role is a member of the extended Product Management team and crucial member of the overall organization. The BA oversees the development of products from start to finish ensuring stakeholder needs and preferences are met. Their main duties include ensuring success of the product, vetting new ideas to determine if they fit the product vision, and working with stakeholders to gather feedback, determine requirements, and scope. The BA represents the single source of truth, and is the single point of contact to the Dev team and Customer team for feature value proposition and details. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate and be open to feedback. Must be able to recognize when to change course and reverse a decision, subscribing to the philosophy of learning fast, and moving on. Primary Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog
- Gather industry intelligence from various sources to ensure prioritization and decision making is fact and data driven
- Clearly articulate the value and benefit of a feature to internal and external stakeholders to ensure all parties understand the “why”
- Help define user stories and acceptance criteria
- Remain available to the Development Scrum teams during each iteration (sprint) to answer real time questions and provide clarity to user stories and feature value proposition
- Act as a liaison across various teams: Product Development, Product Management, QA, Customer Support, Sales
- Work with Product Managers and Development teams to articulate use cases, features, and product goals
- Drive product enhancements that increase value, grow revenue, and increase user adoption
- Ensures a business outcome is achieved and customers receive a product that provides its intended value
- Requires a solid understanding of the inter-relations of our business – financial, marketing, sales, partnerships, customer service, stores, technical capabilities, user experience
- Train internal staff on new functionality and improvements
- Compose clear and concise Application Notes for new features
Essential Requirements:
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- High-level of analytical problem solving skills
- Experience working with a Scrum team to define user stories and acceptance criteria
- Strong ability to take ownership and thrive in a fast paced environment
- Adequate knowledge of software design
- Familiarity with business analysis methods and techniques
- Experience with Agile tools (ADO, Aha)
Desired Requirements:
- Certified PO (CSPO)
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience with ERP, Order Management, or similar systems
- Experience with SaaS software
