JOB FUNCTION
The Trading Operations Manager will be responsible for daily oversight of a team of 4 operations professionals. This role involves overseeing the operations function, supporting the facilitation of trading from post execution through settlement as well as ongoing position management, including corporate actions, proxy voting, currency hedging, security master management and margin. This position will report to the Head of Trading Operations and work closely with many other departments across the firm such as Trading, Treasury, Accounting, Legal and Technology.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Daily team oversight of:
- Reconciliations of both cash and securities
- Resolution of fails and breaks
- Settlement of equities, bonds, and portfolio swaps
- Corporate actions and proxy voting
- Swap Collateral management
- Management of settlement inquiries from brokers
- Support of illiquid investment life cycle
- Identifying, prioritizing, and driving technology initiatives
- Oversight and approval of margin and currency hedging
- Staying informed of industry trends and market changes
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- 6+ years of relevant work experience (this would include hedge fund operations, investment bank operations or prime brokerage)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with global equity and/or fixed income settlements, derivatives, and corporate actions
- Strong operational process knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to identify and resolve issues urgently and thoughtfully
- Strong technology skills
- Familiarity with Eze Castle and/or Geneva is a plus
- The ability to manage internal and external constituents and hold them accountable
- The ability to deploy different approaches and be resourceful
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
