JOB FUNCTION
We are seeking a full stack developer who will work closely with a team of engineers, product managers, and business users, with responsibility for developing and supporting our Performance & Risk analytics systems.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Join a team of engineers focused on development & maintenance of apps developed for Performance & Risk analytics.
- Partner with performance and risk analysts to understand, implement, and improve various analytics practices such as multifactor risk analysis, performance attribution, other related areas
- Develop, deploy, and support
- Dotnet Core applications with Angular frontend
- Python based services
- BI solutions to supplement vendor platforms
QUALIFICATIONS
A successful candidate must have:
- 7+ years of experience building software in an object-oriented language (C# preferred)/dynamic language (JavaScript/Python)
- Strong Proficiency in relational database technologies (SQL Server preferred)
- Experience working in a buy-side asset manager or other financial services firm
- Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, NodeJS, Typescript, etc.)
- Priority on clean code and automated tests (TDD/BDD/Property based testing)
- Strong problem-solving skills/communication, a great attitude, and the ability to build strong working relationships
- Understanding of software design patterns and common anti-patterns
- Solid computer science fundamentals with awareness of fundamental data structures and usage techniques. Ability to reason about the usage and efficiency is strongly preferred.
- Comfort working independently through complexity in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate may also have:
- Exposure & hands on experience in domain driven design/event sourcing/event driven/micro service-based architectures.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for keeping up with new tools and techniques
- Exposure to Geneva/Accounting systems in hedge funds
- Experience in agile software development methodologies
