The Technical Services Engineer will be part of a team responsible for overseeing, documenting, and maintaining day-to-day technology operations for the firm. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the financial services industry and should be comfortable supporting traders, executives and analysts in a fast-paced environment. End users are accustomed to an extremely responsive IT staff that always goes above and beyond.  Trading and Executive support is the top priority however analysts and operations staff will require close attention as well. The ideal person will be able to accommodate everyone. The candidate should be outgoing and comfortable dealing with end users directly. The support individual will need to be able to work independently for much of the day and possess a broad general knowledge of technology.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 3+ years previous experience working within financial services industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills a must
  • Ability to work independently, juggling multiple priorities
  • Extensive experience supporting the following technologies:
    • Market data applications including Bloomberg, Factset
    • Order management systems
    • Execution management systems
    • Multi-monitor display setups
    • PC and laptop maintenance
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory; account management, security group management
  • Extensive experience supporting Windows 10 and Office 365
  • Extensive experience supporting Office 365 applications
  • Familiar with mobile device support, especially for iOS devices managed through Intune
  • Remote systems support, including VPN software technology and VMWare Horizon
  • Experienced with Software Deployment concepts and Packaging
  • Knowledge of video conferencing and AV setups; must be able to provide support for both in-office and popular hosted video conferencing platforms (Zoom).
  • Basic networking skills including troubleshooting of connectivity issues
  • Knowledge of VoIP (Cisco) phones
  • Familiarity with branch / satellite office support and challenges
  • Comfortable supporting in-house security systems for access management requests and basic troubleshooting
  • After-hours and weekend coverage is expected           
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Knowledge of the financial industry is required

The base salary range for this position in New York City is $140,000 to $180,000. In addition to base salary, Viking employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, 100% coverage of medical and dental premiums, and paid lunches. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be individually determined based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, and other qualifications.
