VICE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The VICE Media Internship Program provides a unique learning opportunity for individuals interested in careers in the media industry and related fields. VICE is seeking bright, creative, and hard-working interns to play pivotal roles across various departments.
During our 10 week program, interns will have the opportunity to learn more about journalism, production, design, editing, and more. Interns will also assist with a range of projects that compliment their career interests, gain industry relevance and exposure to the organization, attend workshops, socials, and networking events. Ultimately, VICE interns will work closely with our VICE staff and will gain first-hand experience of the day-to-day of one of the leading international youth media companies.

- Position type: Temporary (40 hrs./week)
- Program Dates: June 5, 2019 – August 14, 2019
- Compensation: $15/hr.
To be considered for an internship at VICE applicants must possess and/or understand the following:
- Be a currently enrolled undergraduate student (junior or senior) or currently-enrolled in graduate school
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must attend the required Intern Orientation
- Must be available to work the full intern session

VICE News interns will get experience working in a leading digital newsroom on, and witness first-hand how it operates on a day-to-day basis.
ABOUT THE ROLE
VICE News is looking for motivated journalists — both print and multimedia — to work for ViceNews.com. Interns gain experience in a wide variety of VICE News functions such as daily reporting, writing for video and the web, video production, contributing to long-form projects,, and breaking news. Interns will work closely with reporters, editors and producers on researching, pitching, developing stories, and more. VICE News interns are a valued and critical part of the team. Interns interact with all aspects of our reporting process and gain experience with a wide array of skills that translate directly to your future career in journalism, TV and video news, graphics, or documentary filmmaking. Interns are expected to be an active part of the production process, from story development to publication.
Successful applicants should have impeccable research and writing skills, be freakishly organized and detail oriented, and have the ability to flourish in a team environment under hard deadlines. Some experience with reporting, news writing, media, or video production a plus. Applicants should be prepared to research, pitch story ideas, and provide general on-site support. Multi-linguists and people of unique backgrounds and skills are encouraged to apply.
