JOB TITLE: VICE.com Intern
REPORTS TO: Editor-in-Chief, VICE.com
OVERVIEW: VICE is looking for an intern to join its energetic team of reporters based in Toronto. You should be someone who takes initiative and is full of ideas, with an eye especially for underreported Canadian stories that would resonate internationally. You should be able to handle breaking news, but also in-depth features that pick an issue apart. You may be called upon for fact checking, so impeccable research skills are a must. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contributing stories to VICE.com
- Transcribing audio files
- Researching and fact-checking
- Contributing to overall editorial direction through ideation and brainstorming
- Enrolled in a college or university program
- Able to work effectively with positive attitude in team setting
- Skilled in researching, fact-checking and copy-editing
- Relevant experience in journalism, digital media, or related fields
- Organizational skills is an asset
