Viam is building a new platform to make robotics more approachable to engineers of all backgrounds, empowering thousands of startups to achieve their robotic visions. We're taking on the hard software challenges, enabling engineers to build modular, practical robots efficiently and cost effectively. We're working on integrating hardware and software in new ways, giving engineers much greater abilities to accomplish their goals. At the same time, we're trying to increase the pace of innovation by bringing costs down tremendously.

As the Head of Growth Marketing and User Acquisition, you will identify where Viam’s users are and get the word out about the Viam platform to attract new customers and drive open-source usage. Candidates should be confident in their expertise designing, deploying and managing demand generation and nurture programs targeting software engineers. They should be adept at crafting and evolving an overall marketing growth strategy, while also being able to execute the components necessary to launch, scale and measure programs while we grow out the marketing org. This role will build and lead a Growth Marketing team as well as work with cross-functional groups within Viam, reporting to the CMO. 

You'll be:

  • Own the conception, execution, and optimization of Viam’s digital programs including paid advertising, content syndication, SEO and SEM
  • Own the strategy and execution of our web presence and its role in our campaign plans including chatbot usage
  • Maintain prospect lists in our marketing automation software
  • Partner with the product marketing team to develop compelling copy for emails, ads, and other outbound content
  • Advise on & manage budgets & software purchases to meet Viam’s growth goals while delivering maximum return on investment
  • Continually research, recommend, and evaluate new social channels
  • Continually optimize programs and channels through experiments and A/B tests
  • Collaborate closely with the product marketing and product team to optimize the user acquisition journey continuously
  • Partner with revenue operations to ensure programs are tracked for ongoing, detailed analysis and actionable insights
  • Collaborate with broader Marketing team to determine the best campaign plan and support for events and other field activities

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 5+ years of hands-on demand generation or digital marketing experience, ideally with a B2B SaaS or enterprise software company
  • Has a data-driven proposal and decision-making mindset and organized planning, execution and tracking
  • Is curious by nature and is driven to take creative tasks from ideation to completion, including learning new approaches to achieve the desired results
  • Has proficiency with marketing automation tools like Marketo, Hubspot and Salesforce 
  • Has an affinity for big ideas and taking risks
  • Has excellent writing skills, is detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple priorities
