As a Software Engineer, you will help our Back End team build and maintain the systems that power the core journey planner app (router and real time data) as well as develop and expand our system around payment, ticketing and 3rd party integrations. This includes the information that is presented to the final user in the apps, but also the internal logs and metrics consumed by other systems and teams.

  • Take ownership of development, maintenance, testing strategy, deployment, and operations.
  • Write, review and discuss technical documents
  • Provide support to other engineers and non-technical teams across Citymapper
  • Have an impact on product development by making impactful technical decisions, influencing the system architecture, development practices and more

Who You Are:

  • You have strong experience working on a sizable project ( in terms of scale or feature set).
  • A track record of working with Product teams would be preferred - ideally in a B2C environment. Generally, a minimum of 4 years of experience would be recommended.
  • You are proficient in cloud computing platforms would be ideal, preferably AWS and Kubernetes.
  • You have designed and built systems that are highly available and handle large amounts of data
  • Effective at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and comfortable working both independently and in teams
