As Talent & HR Specialist, Mobility Operations, you will play a critical role in recruiting, onboarding, and supporting a key part of Via’s driver operations team. Our drivers make our partnerships a reality and represent Via on the road everyday, and our driver support staff help drive that success. You will be their point of contact and ensure that they feel respected and valued throughout their employee journey. Your responsibilities will include sourcing and recruiting candidates to work in our driver operations center, as well as owning processes like leave tracking, payroll, and general HR administration. You will work closely with our senior operations team in Berlin, as well as with our European People Ops team in Amsterdam.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, contract management, health insurance and social security registration, and holiday and sick leave management
  • Process monthly payroll for our employees, working closely with our Driver Center team to ensure changes to payroll are timely and accurate
  • Work in tandem with our payroll provider to understand tax requirements, changes in wage and tax laws, and other regulatory changes that may impact payroll
  • Manage with the recruitment and onboarding of new hires
  • Monitor internal HR systems and databases, making sure our documents are always organized and up-to-date
  • Implement and champion company policies
  • Ensure our record-keeping and data processing procedures comply with GDPR requirements

Who You Are:

  • 2+ years’ HR / People Operations experience in the German market
  • Graduate in HR Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Labor Relations, Law or closely related field
  • Knowledge in German contract management, labour law, preparatory payroll accounting, policies, and regulations 
  • Adequate knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
  • Strong Knowledge of Excel, Google Calendar, and other basic IT skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to use metrics and data to drive decision-making
  • Fully fluent in English and German (German at bilingual/native-speaker level)
