About the opportunity:

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineering Manager for our Platform Development team. You will be building high-performing teams and have a strong technical leadership mindset as we grow. We are building the next generation data security platform for the multi-cloud era - will you join us?

You are passionate about fostering individual growth and guiding the technical vision of a company. You'll work cross-functionally to create alignment and deliver results alongside builders who have helped to shape the success of companies such as Google, Okta, AWS, Snowflake.

You will: 

  • Guide the development of product with a top-performing team
    • Enable engineering teams to make informed product decisions and effectively follow through on them.
    • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by
    • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff
    • Drive the conduction of various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects
    • Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering team members
  • Cross-team collaboration
    • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, and stakeholders
    • Propose and oversee resources, dependencies and timelines for engineering projectsHiring and Training
  • Hire and train engineering staff members
  • Make a plan to hire and train staff members 

You have:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of software engineering experience with experience managing platform, backend, and frontend teams.
    • Start-up mentality, with the ability to wear many hats including Product Management
    • Experience building scalable SaaS products for large enterprises with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and familiarity with IAM services and features
    • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and software delivery process
    • Familiarity with technologies like Kubernetes/EKS, AWS services, AWS Roles / Policies, Grafana/Prometheus, Identity management (SAML, OAuth 2.0, etc).
    • Experience working with product, design, business and leadership in setting the long term strategic direction for team and product
    • Knowledge of Agile development, including Scrum management, stories, defect tracking & management, product backlog, JIRA and MVP
    • Good interpersonal and technical communication skills
    • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
    • Relentlessly high standards (never satisfied with the status quo)
    • Able to dive deep, never out of touch with the details of the business and technology
    • Leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team
    • Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track
  • Others:
    • Spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes
    • Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally

For this position, the reasonably expected pay range can be discussed with your recruiter for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package.
