Harvester Veterinary Hospital of Burr Ridge is hiring a full-time Veterinary Receptionist Supervisor to be the first point of contact for our veterinary clients, playing a crucial role in setting the tone for their visit. We are looking for a customer service professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and is passionate about animal care.

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:45 am-6:30 pm; and rotating Saturday, 7:45 am -1:30 pm

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Greet clients and their pets, complete the appointment sign-in process, confirm appointment details, and escort clients to exam rooms.
  • Ensure accurate service and product sales accounting, handle payments, process credit/debit cards, and schedule future appointments.
  • Answer client calls for appointments, hospital inquiries, medication refills, and other requests. Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-ups.
  • Understand common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology, and pet behavior.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization to ensure a positive client experience.
  • Responsibilities include helping to run day-to-day operations of the front desk with a major focus on administrative duties.
  • Welcoming pets and their owners to the clinic.
  • Answering pet owners' questions regarding clinic policies, appointment availability, and treatment costs.
  • Assisting the Practice Manager and Medical Director with Team Meetings.
  • Resolving conflicts among front desk staff members.
  • Screening telephone calls and assisting the Practice Manager with escalated calls.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist is required
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor
