Seeking an independent and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
Schedule and Experience:
This position is part time at 15-20 hours per week; 1-2 days during the week from 8a-6p and rotating Saturday mornings from 8a-1p.
You should have at least one year of veterinary assistant experience for this role.

In addition to diagnostic and preventative services, our hospital is equipped with digital radiography, digital dental radiography, in-house labs, cold therapy laser, and ultrasound. Our hospital is also the premiere exotics practice for the Kansas City area.

Responsibilities:
- Assisting Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians.
- Collecting and entering medical history for appointments
- Handling and restraining pets for exams and procedures.
- Provide client education on husbandry and wellness care such as recommended vaccinations or products
- Assist in the taking of x-rays
- Perform laser therapy as prescribed
- Collection and preparation of fecal, urine, and blood samples from patients
- Recording results of diagnostic testing into the patient medical record
- Monitor, record, and report physical signs of hospitalized/boarded pets
- Responsible for cleaning/maintenance of hospital and textiles
- Care of hospitalized/boarded pets
- Preparation of a prescription drug, other than a controlled substance, for dispensing
- Surgical assistance to a licensed veterinarian
- Data entry of medical notes, service charges, client communications, and so forth.
