About the role

 

We are looking for a hands-on technical product marketer with a strong interest in data science, machine learning, and AI. This person will work cross-functionally to strategize, develop, and drive programs, content, and tactics to help showcase the value of our Verta to data science and machine learning teams.

What is the opportunity?

 

We are looking looking for a talented and driven senior product marketer with a strong interest in data science, machine learning, and AI. You will be in charge of all product marketing activities from competitive analysis to messaging and sales enablement.

 

The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills and demonstrated experience in Enterprise B2B marketing and working with large, global enterprises. You’re a skilled marketer, always learning and trying new things to continuously improve on what we do and how we do it.

 

You understand the market, advocate for the customer, inspire creativity and enthusiasm in others and show a passion for the work. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and other Marketing team members on all go-to-market efforts.

 

This includes driving messaging, content creation, leading product launches, competitive, and sales enablement. This role also partners closely with our sales and product management teams on customer needs and product roadmaps. This role is remote and is ideal for someone that can execute while driving strategy, and ideally has experience and expertise in data science, machine learning, AI, and/or MLOps.

 

What you'll do

  • Develop a deep understanding of our target market, including buyer personas, key use cases, and customer needs
  • Interact with the Verta Community and the data science and machine learning community generally
  • Plan and execute product launches to maximize market awareness and GTM impact.
  • Create the go-to-market strategy for product launches targeting new and existing customers.
  • Work closely with product management to understand the roadmap, develop content, and ensure customers and prospects are informed of new product releases
  • Partner with sales to create product demos, scripts, and other sales enablement materials 
  • Maintain a pulse on industry trends and competitive actions and regularly report findings and implications on our product, pricing, and communications
  • You own the positioning and the messaging strategy, and the refinement over time as the competition changes and the product evolves, ensuring prospective buyers understand the value and differentiation of our product offering
  • Develop personas of our different buyers to ensure messaging always aligns with the needs and benefits of our buyers, users, and champions.
  • Create “buyer enablement” product-related content to help potential buyers understand who we are, what we offer, why we’re different, and why we’re the best choice, mapped to how buyers purchase enterprise software
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to identify customers willing to share their stories and use cases, and create the content to promote the brand and drive sales
  • In conjunction with Product Management, conduct regular market research to gather product feedback from customers and analysts and evaluate if our messages are resonating with users and buyers
  • In partnership with Product and Sales, establish clear success metrics and regularly report progress and make recommendations for future direction.

 

What we’re looking for

  • 2+ years of product marketing experience in enterprise B2B
  • Proven expertise in software product marketing and B2B sales
  • Able to distill complex information into clear, meaningful insights and messaging
  • Self-starter with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Stand out verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Desire and drive to help others, especially within the Verta Community
  • Driven, creative, and coachable
  • Ability and desire to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate across teams
  • High standards for quality and a passion for data science, machine learning, and AI
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment with high accountability
  • Previous start-up experience is a huge plus
  • Previous experience with machine learning or data science is a huge plus
