Verra Mobility is a global leader in smart mobility. Verra Mobility Commercial Services creates smart roadways, serving the world's largest commercial fleets and rental car companies to manage tolling transactions and violations. Arizona-based Verra Mobility Corp. currently operates in 15 countries and in 22 languages.

We believe there is significant opportunity to further expand into Europe. We have established our European headquarters in Amsterdam, from which we have launched our tolling and violation management solution business in Europe in 2019. We further have offices in London, Paris, Madrid, and Budapest, with a workforce of close to 100 people.

Our European tolling business has established relationships with tolling authorities throughout Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and Ireland, through which we offer interoperable electronic tolling directly to consumers, through white-label partnerships and to RAC customers, depending on location.

Additionally, our European violations business specializes in the identification, notification, and collection of unpaid traffic, parking and public transport related fees, charges, and penalties issued to foreign registered vehicles or persons on behalf of issuing authorities in more than 17 European countries. We provide our services in more than 20 languages and more than 10 currencies and to leverage existing connections with approximately 30 vehicle licensing authorities and over 600 toll and ticket-issuing authorities for whom we bill violators in more than 135 countries.

We are growing quickly in Europe, and we are currently hiring a Senior Software Developer .NET to work with a multi-disciplinary team of software developers, subject matter experts and solutions architects to deliver cloud-based mobility solutions for our customers.

If you also have 4+ years of experience in Azure, .NET (C#) and React, and enjoy contributing with a team of diverse engineers spread across remote locations

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
  • Provide technical support to ensure that all functionality is properly designed, developed, tested, and delivered as per the requirements.
  • Develop high-level and low-level design document to be used by team members for development.
  • Actively participate in code reviews to ensure coding standards are enforced and adequate code coverage is maintained.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments.
  • Plan - Align with product roadmap and backlogs, planning necessary throughput, and capacity.
  • Execute – with the team to deliver the committed projects, on time within budget with quality, help manage changes/disruptions to the team, partner with other managers/teams adhering to best practices, process and audit constraints.
  • Communicate – keep both stakeholders and team informed on status, issues and risks.
  • Ensure internal company policies are followed on-time and accurately.

Qualifications:

  • English: C1
  • Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in cloud technologies and software development: microservices, test automation tools, CI pipelines, Cloud, and containerization technologies.
  • 4+ years of experience in C# (.Net Framework and .Net Core) and React: writing well-designed, high-quality code.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software engineering principles (programming patterns, standard algorithms, data structures, multiprocessing).
  • Database design skills and experience in writing high performance database queries.
  • Proven experience in setting up and operating in scaled and distributed environments.

We'd be particularly excited if you have:

  • Good communication skills. Used to interact with client and application end-users.
  • Hands on knowledge of AWS, PHP or GoLang.
  • Experience driving leadership behaviour shifts needed to empower agile teams
  • Spanish: B2 or upper.
