Overview
Verkada is actively seeking an exceptional individual to join us as the leader of our Intercom software team. As the leader of the Intercom product line on the software side, you will play a pivotal role in the architecture, design, and development of products for the newest and fastest growing vertical within Verkada.
Responsibilities:
- Build and lead the team through effective recruitment, mentoring, and leadership.
- Build amazing, delightful products that win the market.
- Work with Product Managers to chart roadmaps.
- Plan and drive project execution.
- Drive product quality, reliability, and user experience.
- Work cross-functionally with other product teams to enhance your products and extend the power of the Verkada platform.
- Ideally, engage in hands-on coding and prototyping to validate ideas, accelerate execution, and learn the codebase as you grow the team (currently, 6 engineers) into a full organization.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers, including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
- 5+ years of work experience in a software engineering role, with proven technical leadership skills and expertise in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions.
- Proficient in agile team software development and strong project management, delivering complex projects within defined timelines and resource constraints.
- Adept at collaborating cross-functionally, communicating effectively, and aligning efforts to achieve common goals.
- Passionate about technology, staying updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.
- Some familiarity with and interest in IoT and/or video.

Pay Disclosure
At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
