About the role

The DevOps Engineer focusses on the deployment and stability of enterprise applications and cloud-based infrastructure. The DevOps Engineer is involved in the design and creation of non-production and production based pipelines and platform tools. This person’s main responsibility is to build, design, and maintain the pipelines and infrastructure that powers our application suite, as well as design and implement logging and monitoring tools that help ensure our system’s stability. This person will work with various teams including Engineering, QA and Data Science to ensure consistent and quality releases.

Responsibilities

This role is 100% remote within the United States

  • Design, manage and build application and tooling deployment pipelines.
  • Manage and maintain Cloud Infrastructure resources including EC2 Instances, Lambda runtimes, and AWS Security Groups
  • Analyze and help resolve technical and application problems.
  • Help to administer AWS.
  • Drive automation efforts across the organization utilizing IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and CI/CD tools.
  • Assist with Security and Compliance implementations and management in the cloud.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting tools and practices for a microservices oriented architecture.
  • Provide technical support to development teams.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with source control, automation, CI/CD, and orchestration tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Developer Tools, Git, etc. in a cloud environment.
  • Experience designing and building infrastructure and web application environments on AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway.
  • Demonstrated experience in DevOps, including continuous integration/delivery/deployment, automation, release and configuration management, and monitoring and alerting.
  • Experience in Containerization technologies such as Docker and AWS ECS/Kubernetes
  • Experience in adding QA Automation to CI/CD Pipelines and managing end to end deployment processes.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills in a complex compute environment.
  • Passion for learning, continuous improvement, teaching, and mentoring.

Strongly preferred skills, qualifications or experiences:

  • Ability to create and utilize Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code tools to automate creation of AWS services and infrastructure.
  • Advanced Scripting skills with Python or JavaScript experience as applied to orchestration and automation of infrastructure and creation of tooling libraries.
  • Advanced skills with security and security principles as applied to infrastructure and internet computing.
  • A team player capable of high performance, flexibility in a dynamic working environment.
  • Skill and ability to train others on technical and procedural topics.

Reports to: Cloud Architect

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000
