
Director, OFE Power Equipment Delivery
Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. We are seeking an experienced leader to join us as a Director, Power Equipment Delivery within the Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) team based out of Venture Global’s Arlington, VA headquarters. The Venture Global OFE team is responsible to ensure that the properly specified and configured Power Island, Pre-treatment and Liquefaction Equipment is delivered on-time. The Venture Global OFE team is also responsible for the performance, interface and correct functionality of the Power Island, Pre-treatment and Liquefaction Equipment. The broad range of supplied Power Island equipment includes gas turbine generators, steam turbine generators and heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) from GE Gas Power Systems, Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) from GE Grid Solutions, Energy Management Systems (EMS) by GE Power Conversion.
As a director within the OFE team, you will be responsible for Power Island equipment design and delivery including design reviews and coordination of interface points during engineering, fabrication, and construction planning across active VG projects. The role will report through the Vice President, Power Equipment Delivery, Owner Furnished Equipment.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the correct implementation of OFE Purchase Orders for Power Island equipment, including the on-time provision of correctly configured turbines, HRSGs, GIS, Power Transformers and EMS (energy management system).
- Responsible for coordinating design reviews with the OFE team and OFE Vendors in relation to equipment design development.
- Responsible for coordination of design reviews with the EPC engineering teams responsible for the detailed design of the Power Island.
- Responsible for the on-time delivery of all design documents and for the coordination for information flows to and from the EPC Power Island detailed design teams.
- Communicate effectively to manage expectations and build relationships within and across organizations.
- Strong planning skills a distinct plus with the ability to adapt to changing priorities as needed.
- Strong record keeping and coordination skills – drives discipline with EPC in this area.
- Engage with VG and EPC installation teams to drive:
- Assurance and audit of equipment installation, electrical test plans and pre-commissioning procedures
- Review installation scope packages and validate necessary forms for completed turnover package.
- Review test procedures for component and system testing.
- Perform project document reviews.
- Support site Change Management for electrical discipline.
- Checkout installed systems and equipment adhering to OEM requirements, system descriptions, and good industry standard practice.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 40% or more to support customer witness tests or factory acceptance tests.
Critical Competencies:
- Demonstrated experience overseeing large power projects through the stages of conceptual planning, detail engineering, manufacturing, logistics, installation at site and commissioning.
- Strong communication and experience with planning, schedule development, and progress monitoring. Ability to bring disparate teams together to achieve targets and goals.
- Desire to work on challenging opportunities and tasked with varying responsibilities.
Candidates for this position will be evaluated based on the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering mechanical, electrical or chemical from a University or Technical School, and/or job related experience and minimum of 15 years field execution experience.
- A consistent record of dedication with a minimum 10-15 years of experience in Power Plant design and delivery, experience with power delivery in LNG/Gas Process/Refinery/Petrochemical Industries a plus.
- Familiarity with all power plant systems including Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, HRSG and associate electrical and control systems. Experience with maintenance and operations concepts.
- Demonstrated leadership and social skills with the ability to thrive in a matrixed environment, with a strong dedication to employee involvement, team building and diversity.
- A track record of success in safety, quality, contract management, planning, and progress tracking.df
- Construction experience with power plants desired, but not necessary.
