We are looking to welcome a Facilities Manager to our Office Management team in Arlington. VA. This person will work Monday – Friday in office.
Job Summary:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational functionality of all facilities. This role ensures the efficient operation of buildings, grounds, and equipment, while managing facility budgets, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Facilities Manager also plays a critical role in ensuring that the workplace is safe, clean, and well-maintained to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Space Planning & Construction Management:
- Manage space allocation and office layouts to optimize the use of facilities.
- Plan and execute office moves, renovations, or expansions.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the facilities budget.
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Track spending on maintenance, repairs, and utility costs.
- Vendor & Contractor Management:
- Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including negotiating contracts and overseeing their performance.
- Source and manage contractors for major repairs or new installations.
- Oversight and management of break rooms, office supplies, and mail services, including stocking, coffee preparation, food orders, inventory management and package handling.
- Survey office space daily for furniture damage, non-working appliances, burned out lights, etc.
- Issue security keys and set up parking accounts
- Ability to respond 24/7 emergency alarm notifications as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in facilities management, including supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices.
- Experience in managing budgets and vendor contracts.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to fifty lbs
- Ability to climb stairs
