Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. We are seeking an experienced System Application Engineer to monitor and maintain the efficiency of our software supporting the Plant operations.  This role includes working closely with cross functional colleagues and vendors to triage, problem solve, enhance and keep up to date various applications.  The successful candidate should possess the ability to provide application support in a fast-paced environment in the LNG or similar industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer applications including User Role provisioning following the security guidelines & organizational best practices.
  • Identify process gaps by effectively collaborating with the Business, participate in the requirement gathering, capture requirements for enhancements or new developments and translate them into functional, technical specifications.
  • Support Unit testing, Regression testing & User Acceptance testing and ensure the Test results are well-documented.
  • Taking ownership to ensure effective communication and collaboration between Business and Vendors as required and support the Application end to end throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Willing to go above & beyond assigned roles & responsibilities; Open to continually innovate to ensure best in class process across the applications. Experience understanding industry related processes such as control of work, electronic rounds, and safety/environmental applications.
  • Participate in Master data governance and ensure master data is aligned across related applications.
  • Monitor & govern integrations across assigned applications.
  • Oversee integration of systems and data from the Plant control systems, Plant IT systems to Corporate IT systems
  • Aptitude for taking on responsibilities outside the core competency.
  • Triage and Resolve integration problems as they arise.
  • Support the business with production issues ensuring systems are online.
  • Liaison with vendors on application version enhancements, patches, etc. and ensure compliance to Venture Global patching policies.
  • Write application specific Administration SOPs
  • Lead or participate in the design and development of complex software applications.
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations to ensure that applications are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the organization’s long-term goals.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues and system outages.
  • Be a self-starter, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, customer centric and have the interpersonal skills necessary to manage business and technology relationships.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills, resilient under pressure, able to meet deadlines and able to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Exhibit strong security and confidentiality practices with systems that handle sensitive data.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of application architectures, configurations, and processes.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or commensurate work experience
  • Minimum 2-5 years of IT Application experience preferably in Oil & Gas industry, strong technical knowledge of tools and technologies used in the Plant Maintenance space..
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience supporting SaaS applications, and cloud environments (Azure or AWS)
  • Experience in or expose to plant maintenance process in SAP S/4 HANA
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills
  • Experience in supporting multiple applications
  • Experience troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and clearly communicate cross functionally
  • Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design
  • Hands-on experience implementing simultaneous projects
  • Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases
