Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for transforming business data into insights, mentoring BI Analysts, and maintaining relationships with BI vendors and contractors. Using data analytics, visualization, and modeling, the Senior BI Developer will mine, aggregate, organize, and derive available data to identify opportunities to improve business performance. Communicating across multiple teams, this role will develop reports, KPIs, dashboards and serve as a point of contact for all data aggregation and reporting. For backlog BI products, the Senior BI Developer will be the main point of contact with vendors to contract out BI report development. This position will be based in our Arlington, VA headquarters and report to the BI Manager. This position is structured within IT under the Vice President of Applications. 

This position will facilitate the implementation of business intelligence processes, strategies, and procedures. This position will require working with and translating business requirements to a data engineer for data curation. Working with contractors and vendors will be necessary to develop data inputs and automated interfaces. 

The position will be located in Arlington, VA. 

Position Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties: 

  • Mentor internal BI analysts through reviewing and providing feedback on BI products developed 
  • Act as the tech lead for BI products including developing technology stacks, timelines, and alleviating blockers 
  • Define and enhance the BI project lifecycle 
  • Be the primary point of contact with vendors on BI projects to contract out 
  • Drive the development of a secure framework for how data, reports, dashboards, and custom apps are designed and maintained. 
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and apps using an agile methodology utilizing Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SQL Databases. 
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy dashboards, scorecards, forecast models, financial planning models, and reports for the presentation of business metrics according to business unit requirements. 
  • Support financial planning and analytics initiatives such as budget cycles, predictive analytics, and forecast automation. 
  • Design report, dashboard, and app prototypes and lead working sessions with business process owners. 
  • Assist in testing, governance, data quality, training, and documentation efforts. 
  • Actively engage in business stakeholder requirement workshops to understand, interpret, and translate requirements into effective technical solutions. 
  • Ensure the right information is identified at the right time and at the appropriate level for reporting purposes. 
  • Educate business stakeholders on intelligence reporting capabilities. 
  • Effectively communicate and interact with business and technical stakeholders to solve complex data related problems. 
  • Maintain and update existing reports and dashboards to ensure minimal downtime. 
  • Create and define tasks to be utilized during sprint planning. 

Job Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related field of study. 
  • 5+ years in business intelligence development and data analytics. 
  • Advanced skillset in Microsoft Power BI, Power Apps, Power Query, Power Automate, M-Code, SQL, and Microsoft Excel. 
  • Mid-level skillset in Python and Apache Spark for data cleansing, transformation, and curation. 
  • Mentorship experience and the ability to guide other BI developers through the BI project lifecycle. 
  • Experience in cloud data storage solutions and ingestion from a Data Lake 
  • Experience with Power Automate and digital process automation. 
  • Proficient in star-schema or snowflake data modeling. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with strong critical thinking and attention to detail. 
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to translate technical details to business stakeholders. 
  • Ability to document requirements, design and build BI products using an agile methodology, and document BI product design. 
  • Strong work ethic with ability to effectively prioritize, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities and business needs, and succeed in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to efficiently summarize and prioritize information. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or other Business Intelligence tool. 
  • Experience in SAP Analytics Cloud, Adaptive Insights, or other financial planning and analytics tool. 
  • Experience in Azure DevOps and Azure services. 
  • Experience in coding languages primarily Python, R, and SQL. 
  • Familiarity with ingestion from Azure Data Lake. 
  • Strong technical writing skills. 
  • Strong Excel skills including visual basic, Power Query, pivot tables, pivot charts, and advanced formulas.
