Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. We are seeking a senior commissioning and start-up professional to join us as a Start Up Director.  The Venture Global Start Up team is responsible to ensure the safe and efficient start-up and operation of the facility to achieve the plant’s production and performance objectives.

This position will be located in initially in Plaquemines Louisiana area.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day direction to the Integrated Operating Team, consisting of Operations and Contractor team members.
  • Remain on call to assist outside of office hours.
  • Manage the IOT team working hours to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
  • Manage the team skills composition to be consistent with balanced competency.
  • Ensure complete compliance and use of Standard and Initial Operating Procedures.
  • Oversight for the development of systems completion program for the respective facilities, including systemization, inspection and test plans, punch listing, status and records.
  • Oversight of Contractor commissioning activities.
  • Lead Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSR).
  • Represent commissioning in project punch listing activities.
  • Oversees Contractor development of the pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up.
  • Verification that Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Process Licensor requirements are included in the associated commissioning procedures.
  • Primary interfaces include liquefaction process licensor, Contractor completions group, Venture Global construction, engineering and operations departments.
  • Implementation of SIMOPs.
  • Manage various Safety Systems like control (red) blinds, LOTO and Emergency Response.
  • Ensure Compliance with all regulations associated with Operating the facility.

 Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commissioning and start-up experience on major EPC LNG export projects.
  • Experience with structured management of change system.
  • Experience with computerized completions management systems.
  • Experience in working with simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) in a major capital project.
  • Minimum 15 years plant commissioning and start-up experience.
  • Demonstrated Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills across multiple employee levels and outside stakeholders.
  • Held responsibility as permit approver in a permit to work system - including LOTO, inhibit and override, hot work, confined space entry.
  • Working knowledge of safety and integrity critical equipment and systems, including associated functional testing.
  • Experience with incident investigation processes (i.e. 5 why, Taproot).
  • Understanding of process safety fundamentals. Possess the ability to mentor others through technical training and guidance.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret engineer drawings to include P&IDs, Civil/Structural plans and details, Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Piping Isometrics, etc.
  • Broad knowledge and understating of all industry codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have advanced computer experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, PowerPoint, and Excel Work products.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC Card
