Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

The Senior OSI PI Admin is responsible for administrating OSI PI services including PI Vision, PI Data Link, PI Analytics, and Asset Framework. The OSI PI Admin will lead business discussions to continually enhance the PI program and work with the business to meet their needs. The Senior level row is expected to have advanced knowledge on the PI system and mentor PI Admins. This new position will be based in our Arlington, VA headquarters and report to the Director, Business Intelligence. This position is structured within IT under the Vice President of Applications.

This position will facilitate the implementation of PI services development, processes, strategies, and procedures. This position will require working with and translating business requirements PI Vision screens or analytics. Working with contractors and vendors will be necessary to develop data inputs and automated interfaces.

The position will be located in Arlington, VA.

Position Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Administration of all OSI PI services including PI Vision, PI Data Link, PI Analytics, and Asset Framework
  • Implementation of best practices and governance regarding the PI system or development
  • Develop Asset Framework modules and hierarchies with a focus on automation and scalability
  • Mentor PI Admins, guide PI Admins on best practices, and support any issues they may have
  • Understand business issues directly and formulate solutions and team tasks
  • Identify opportunities for optimization or architecture improvements and the ability to formulate a plan to implement
  • Develop user guides, establish best practices documentation, and training sessions for learning PI services
  • Document scope of PI projects, coordinate with vendors, perform vendor evaluation and selection, and monitor vendor performance
  • Utilize Azure DevOps and agile practices to track project performance and report to business stakeholders
  • Support the Integrated Production Excellence and Operations Engineering teams during Process troubleshooting by developing the required screens to perform the required Engineering analysis
  • Support Artificial Intelligence / Advanced Analytics development for Integrated Production Excellence and help provide technical support to transform data to information and information to insights for real time optimization
  • Maintenance of PI Historian and other infrastructure components to ensure Venture Global Real Time system data integrity is secure and accessible at all time
  • Develop OSI PI Vision screens and institute best practices
  • Develop calculated tags, alerts, and event frames
  • Perform system integrations of PI tags (to or from systems)
  • Lead OSI PI workshops and IT architecture builds for Plaquemines, CP2, Delta and any other future plants. This work would include collaboration with the business on screens, tags, asset framework, and security essential to plant implementation. 
  • Develop Corporate PI screens to aggregate Production data at a Corporate level as each new plant comes online.
  • Provide in-depth insights into strategies for installing, maintaining, organizing, and expanding our real-time capabilities
  • Troubleshoot and support break-fixes or issues with PI tags displaying the correct values
  • Analyze and optimize compression rates for PI tag transfers.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, IT, Business, or related field of study.
  • 5+ years in OSI PI administration.
  • Proficient in PI Vision development, PI Data Link development, Asset Framework hierarchy builds, conditional alerting, and PI Analytics.
  • Proficient in integrating data sources with OSI PI Data Archive.
  • Experience in leading workshops with several stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to effectively prioritize, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities and business needs, and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to efficiently summarize and prioritize information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Azure cloud services.
  • Experience in SQL.
  • Familiarity with transferring PI data to Azure Data Lake.
  • Experience in agile development and sprint planning.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
