Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. We are seeking a Senior Associate, Financial Planning & Analysis for our Construction FP&A team who will be responsible for financial analyses, budgeting, forecasting and modeling on our capital projects. This person will work closely with all members of the team (including Finance, Project Directors, Engineering, Project Controls, and Construction) and report to the Manager of Construction FP&A. This position will be based in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining the budget process
- Provide financial support, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances for the functional leaders to assist them with cost management
- Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual financial results for internal and external reporting
- Generate reports to track costs against budget for projects under construction and in operation
- Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports, track budget to actual costs and cash flow and partner with the Operations Managers to ensure reporting is accurate and up to date
- Work with Leadership and cross functionally with other corporate departments to coordinate and develop materials as needed
- Review contracts to understand accounting requirements and forecast budget impact
- Process and/or review invoices to ensure coding is within compliance requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or relevant field
- 3-5 or more years of progressive professional experience in Project Controls, Cost Engineering, Accounting, Finance or Consulting
- Demonstrated understanding of key financial concepts, including but not limited to financial statements, cash flow, net present value, and return on investment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to simplify complex projects and present key details and conclusions
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities
- Interest and ability in being a part of a team environment with rapidly changing assignments and priorities
- Demonstrated initiative and ownership of work with strong attention to detail
- Experience working with engineering, operations and project team members on development and analysis of cost standards
- Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Experience with financial management systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new financial and business management systems
- Willing to report in office, daily
- Periodic travel to construction site or Houston office will be required
