At Vendr, we're transforming the software procurement experience with innovative AI-driven solutions. As we scale, we're looking for a Staff AI Software Engineer with a deep focus on large language models (LLMs) and a passion for pushing the boundaries of AI. This role will be instrumental in bringing advanced AI capabilities to both our customers and internal stakeholders, directly impacting our core product and operations. If you're excited about leveraging cutting-edge tools like OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, and building robust AI systems internally, we want you on our team.

Though this role can be remote, we are giving preference to candidates located in Boston, MA or on Eastern Time Zone. 

You Will:

  • Lead AI projects focused on leveraging LLMs to enhance our marketplace and back-office tools, pushing AI capabilities into the hands of customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Work on innovative solutions such as document extraction, spiderbot scraping, contract grading, and automated negotiation systems, just to name a few.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams to integrate AI into Marketplace and our other products, driving more valuable customer experiences.
  • Build and maintain scalable AI infrastructure using tools like SST and React for our Backoffice stack, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on AI, particularly LLMs and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in tools and frameworks like OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, and human-in-the-loop platforms like Humanloop.
  • Experience with full-stack development, particularly with SST and React, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • A proven track record of implementing AI-driven solutions in production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with AI applications in SaaS or procurement platforms.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices and the ability to contribute to open-source AI projects.
  • An advanced degree (Master’s/Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • A passion for staying ahead of the curve in AI technology and continuously pushing the envelope in AI applications.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $157,500 to $198,000.
