To pull this off, we are looking for a VP/SVP of Marketing, with a focus on growth and marketplaces.

This role will report to our Founder & CEO, Ryan Neu, and will be expected to curate a unified customer experience that fuels the Vendr marketplace as a leading software buying destination for SMB and midmarket companies.

You will create a program that demonstrates expert-level analytics and insights into the customer journey from beginning to end linked directly to our developing ICPs. You will be responsible for creating frameworks to align against these customer journeys to increase the velocity of marketplace transactions driving revenue and gross merchandise value (GMV).

Role:

  • Acquisition: Drive qualified web traffic to Vendr using a mix of paid and organic channels and ensure conversion into marketplace requests (“private offers”) and signups for Vendr’s freemium platform.
  • Lifecycle: Nurture users and subscribers with email marketing and other lifecycle content.
  • Expansion: Drive account-based initiatives to accelerate our growth within our customers’ organizations. Develop and execute growth strategies that convert additional personas within an organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Accountable for defining and executing an omnichannel marketing plan, segmentation, and modeling
  • Growth: Oversee the execution of growth marketing strategies, ensuring that our marketplace offering reaches and engages the target audience effectively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement marketing campaigns that drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Product Marketing Management (PMM): Develop and articulate Vendr’s marketplace value proposition. Ensure alignment with the overall marketing strategy, create compelling messaging and positioning that resonates with target customers, build effective lifecycle campaigns that successfully nurture existing customers for continued engagement, and partnership with product and engineering teams to ensure marketing reflects the product experience.
  • Design: Create visually appealing and effective marketing collateral, website design, and in-product experiences that enhance user engagement and brand perception.
  • Content & Communications: Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that include PR, content marketing, and social media to build and maintain Vendr’s brand presence in the market. Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all channels.
  • SEO & SEM: Develop and execute SEO and SEM strategies that improve organic search visibility and drive paid search performance. Optimize on-page and off-page SEO efforts, manage PPC campaigns, and continuously refine keywords and ad copy to maximize ROI.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Product, Engineering, and GTM executives to define, evolve, and communicate the marketing plan and performance to goal as market dynamics evolve to ensure alignment of goals, objectives, and strategies with direct and indirect revenue plans.
  • Reporting: Regularly monitor, analyze, report, and present on campaign and KPI performance, regional success, deliverables, and programs among teams and executives.
  • Leadership: Lead from the front as both a strategist and an executor. Guide and mentor a high-performing marketing team.
  • Operations: Manage the marketing technology stack, as well as the marketing budget, goals, and KPIs to achieve customer and transaction growth targets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related fields; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years in pivotal marketing roles and 5 years of marketing leadership
  • Experience with marketplaces and preferably within the software industry.
  • Proven success in growth marketing and marketplace-focused roles
  • An analytical acumen complemented by the ability to distill data into actionable strategies.
  • A comprehensive grasp of user funnels, onboarding schematics, and retention blueprints.
  • Proficiency with contemporary marketing tools and technologies.
  • Stellar communication and partnership skills.
  • Innate leadership with a penchant for nurturing and inspiring teams.
  • Experience with marketing automation and sales automation/CRM (Salesforce) reporting and campaign features and marketing intelligence tools; opportunity to build out and implement foundational growth stack beyond the foundational ops layer.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $240,000 to $292,500.
