The role will participate in our worldwide Company’s month-end close activities and responsible for ensuring assigned accounts are processed and reported timely and accurately in the Company’s accounting system.  This position will be based in Bangalore, India.

The candidate MUST be very detail-oriented, highly motivated, reliable, team player with a strong sense of urgency and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where changing priorities may occur frequently based on operational needs.

Responsibilities:

Velodyne India Entity Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure adherence with GST compliances including recording, computation of tax, payment of tax, filing of returns, filing of statements and certifications
  2. Process invoice payables in NetSuite and employee reimbursements through Concur. This include ensuring timely payments and issuance of 16A withholding certificates.
  3. Assist in all other assigned direct and indirect tax compliance (e.g., STPI returns)
  4. Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system, track the compilation of project costs into fixed assets accounts, record depreciation, reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger, assign tag numbers, and take insurance for new assets
  5. Close the AP/AR as per close Calendar and prepare the monthly Recons.
  6. Arrange employees’ overseas travels including travel insurance and currency exchange
  7. Assist in ad-hoc activities and special projects

Velodyne Lidar U.S.A. Inc. Responsibilities

  1. Work with the US team to ensure timely close of financial records and preparation of account reconciliation per the close calendar.
  2. Perform the US daily and period-end bank statement reconciliations with the highest level of accuracy and timeliness and resolve, record deposits and book journal entries to the general ledger as needed.
  3. Coordinate with the US AP team to record accruals accurately, book monthly accrual entries, perform OpEx flux analysis to capture missed accruals, and reconcile amounts to the balance sheet.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Diversified knowledge and application of accounting and finance processes
  • Knowledge in direct tax, indirect tax, company law and payroll
  • Strong work ethic, capacity to get things done, and consistent performing with a sense of urgency and commitment
  • Exhibit the highest professional standards, ethical principles, and attention to detail while working on numerous routine and ad hoc projects.
  • Excellent communication, organization, project management and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, assertive, and creative approach to problem solving
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with US companies is a plus
  • Experience with NetSuite not necessary but highly desired

 Education:

  • Graduate or Postgraduate in Finance
  • Chartered Accountant is Preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Industry
