Velodyne LiDAR is seeking an experienced and highly driven sales professional to join our rapidly growing team.  The Strategic Account Manager will be responsible for growing Velodyne’s business with well-established Fortune 100 relationships.  This resource will help Velodyne penetrate and identify additional opportunities at key accounts; from proof of concept projects to long-term high volume purchase contracts.  The ideal candidate will be proficient at understanding customer requirements, aligning capabilities and managing resources and expectations to meet corporate objectives.  This position that will have high visibility within the company.

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Follows a disciplined sales process for delivering consistent results that meet or exceed expectations
  • Ability to understand and articulate client objectives while establishing alignment between these needs and our solutions
  • Build strong, collaborative, and productive relationships with key decision makers at large Fortune 100 strategic accounts
  • Establishes credibility and engages internal ecosystems to coalesce resources around a business objective
  • Provide monthly forecast updates. Ensure all business systems are updated with latest customer forecast and provide information to internal teams to enable effective internal operational and financial planning processes
  • Accountable for results – history of meeting or exceeding performance objectives
  • Strong customer presence and written/verbal communication skills
  • Solid organization skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic organization
  • Proficient user of Salesforce.com

Preferred Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or business preferred
  • 4+ years of experience, preferably selling to large technology companies who are developing autonomous vehicles and/or mobile robots
  • Proven track record which demonstrates ability to engage in strategic solution selling
  • Strong business and commercial skills with an understanding of financial drivers and shareholder value; solid knowledge of industry-standard legal and business language, including familiarity with contracts, NDAs, IP, payment terms, proposals, pricing, margins
  • Strong understanding of how to navigate a large organization to assess which accounts/projects are in need of our specific resources, and a strong ability to evaluate the merit of creative solutions
