The Opportunity: 

Vault Health is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Clinical Trials group as a Business Development Lead with some experience in proposal writing. You will be required to handle multiple projects that may span a variety of topics and other new business initiatives. You will be responsible for developing  proposals that are well-written, accurate, consistent, responsive and reflect customer-specific themes. You will serve as a key resource for the development of all sections of proposals including responses related to clinical assessment, appeals, outcomes, budget, etc. in response to RFPs for clinical trials.You will be forward-thinking and effectively negotiate terms that benefit Vault and our customers. Responsibilities: 

  • Take the lead to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage partnerships.
  • Build and execute sales and marketing strategies to engage partners and drive opportunities.
  • Develop pitch decks and supporting sales material, and continue to refine as capabilities and narrative evolve over time..
  • Develop marketing plans, establish metrics, measure and report results. Deal/forecast/pipeline management for new and expanding partnerships, ability to manage this tactically and present this at the executive level.
  • Evaluate the economic and strategic cost-benefit of partnerships.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Accounting, and senior management to execute on the relationships.
  • Develop best practices to foster, manage, and track opportunities.
  • Support the strategic objectives and interests of Vault’s business teams on a national basis.
  • Identify and contact subject matter experts throughout Vault to get accurate information for inclusion in proposals based on requirements and platform.
  • Partner with others to provide quality deliverables that meet or exceed timeline expectations to keep studies on track and budget
  • Review and interpret clinical research protocols and work closely with the finance and leadership team to determine pricing. 
  • Communicate and solicit input from clinical staff and management to clarify protocol questions, standard of care procedures, and other nuances that would affect the budget.
  • Prepare and present budget and contract to necessary leaders for approval prior to submitting to Sponsors/CRO’s.

Experienced and knowledgeable in proposal processes; experience writing in the healthcare industry or for clinical trials/research:

  • Creates original text and presentations, and coordinates creation of illustrations, explanatory tables and/or graphics.
  • Ability to analyze compliance-driven/technical documentation to determine customer requirements and to understand complex customer issues within the clinical trial arena.
  • Ability to create new proposal text and presentations by meeting with subject matter experts or using reference documents.
  • Edits proposal language to ensure incorporation of strategic themes as well as compliance with proposal requirements and RFP requirements.

  • Meets with executives, operations, and others to review RFP and determine requirements to develop compliant, customized proposals.
  •  Other duties as assigned 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • End-to-end negotiation experience, including identifying, developing, and executing successful partnerships such as large scale marketing deals, complex transactions, and strategic technology relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics.
  • Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability gain respect of the senior management and external executives.
  • Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ Years in Business Development, medical, or venture investing experience in a corporate or financial services environment
  • End-to-end negotiation experience, including identifying, developing, and executing successful partnerships such as large scale marketing deals, complex transactions, and strategic technology relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability gain respect of the senior management and external executives.
  • Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment.

Work Environment: 

Vault is a high growth, fast paced organization. The ability to be productive and successful in an intense work environment is critical. Willingness and ability to travel domestically (and potentially internationally) is required, it is anticipated that this will be less than 15 % of work time.
