Varda was founded under the belief manufacturing in zero-gravity is critical to unlocking new materials.  We are actively working on spacecraft and technologies to make this possible and expand humanity’s manufacturing capabilities.


  • Learn how to design, build, test, and fly spacecraft including satellites and atmospheric reentry vehicles
  • Full ownership of the vehicle software including the satellite bus on orbit and the reentry capsule
  • Ability to grow and develop with the vehicle and the company as we build Varda together


  • Teamwork, communication and problem solving in a collaborative environment
  • Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades given open-ended problems
  • Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C
  • Build highly reliable and available software systems
  • Ensure system quality and performance through software test, verification, and validation (V&V) technique

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or an engineering discipline
  • Experience in the development of spacecraft or similar critical software
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft operations

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with CCSDS telemetry and telecommand system
  • Familiarity with F' or cFS framework
  • Familiarity with Matlab, Simulink, Python and other programming languages
  • Knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics
  • Familiarity with SPI, I2C, CAN, EtherCAT
