Job Summary:
The Ecosystem team is the newest function within Valor’s Scale Group. The Scale Group works side-by-side with our portfolio companies – from executive leadership to junior contributors -- to solve their toughest and most important scaling challenges. Within the Scale Group, the Ecosystem team serves our portfolio through educational and community experiences, ensuring that the people and companies in whom we’ve invested have the skills and network to scale their business. In addition, the Ecosystem team is responsible for driving a consistent brand journey, enabling our portfolio companies to make the most of our offerings.
Valor Equity Partners is seeking a Director, Ecosystem to join the founding Ecosystem team as a senior individual contributor. In this role, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to use your experience as a hands-on operator to build Valor’s educational, community, and brand experiences from scratch. Your work will develop Ecosystem into a core pillar of Valor’s Scale Group and bring meaningful value to our portfolio companies, enabling them to succeed in their industry-transforming missions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and deliver educational experiences – including online courses, in-person workshops, and panel conversations – that help both current and prospective portfolio companies scale.
- Manage the end-to-end attendee experience for community networking events.
- Develop and design the brand journey that ensures that the right people at our portfolio companies receive the right Scale Group offerings at the right time.
- Partner with the Vice President of Ecosystem and Co-President/Partner to hone strategy; measure success; and shape the future of both the Ecosystem team and Valor as a whole
We’re excited about candidates that:
- Have 8+ years of experience at high-growth technology or technology-enabled companies, ideally in marketing, community, and/or customer education.
- Maintain an entrepreneurial mindset. The Ecosystem function is being built from the ground up and is still establishing product-market fit, so must remain versatile. Candidate is expected to thrive in an environment where experimentation, feedback, and iteration are the norm.
- Demonstrate a track record of outstanding collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Have strong communication skills across multiple audiences and media.
- Proactively uncover customer needs and execute on those needs.
- Find joy in planning and managing events, down to the most meticulous level of detail, that delight and educate our network.
- Can travel as needed.
- Are familiar with content management systems and related tools (bonus)
- Have Graphic design and/or video production skills (bonus)
