Position Overview 

Valimail is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team - you will be working on our Enforce, Align, and Monitor products. In this role, you would be working to build out new features in Ruby on Rails and/or Golang.  You will be working on an agile team that is helping to build out our industry leading SaaS DMARC application, building out APIs and other improvements to the platform.  Additionally, this individual will stay up to date with industry trends, bringing that innovation into their day to day work. What You'll Be Doing: 

  • Collaborating in a stable high performance software system
  • Writing scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code
  • Building and maintaining applications in EITHER fullstack Ruby on Rails OR Go and have semi-significant exposure to both languages
  • Demonstrating ownership over features and fixes and work hand-in-hand with cross functional teams including other Engineering teams and Product
  • Providing and receive constructive feedback
  • Improving development processes by identifying inefficiencies in workflows and providing effective, measurable solutions
  • Determining and understanding the full scope of a project prior to beginning to work on it, and the concessions needed to provide on-time delivery
  • Evangelizing and driving the adoption of standard processes relating to code health, testability, maintainability, and scalability
  • Providing technical expertise throughout the product life cycle including design, implementation, and delivery of scalable build/test/release infrastructure
  • Helping to define the selection, improvement, and adoption of developer tools across the Engineering organization
  • Influencing and educating peers through PR reviews and pair-programming

About You: 

  • 5+ years of experience in building production web applications 
  • Significant experience in Ruby on Rails or Go
  • Ability and desire to learn and develop in different programming languages. 
  • Proficient understanding of how to write, analyze and optimize PostgreSQL
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs
  • Demonstrates a deep proficiency in your craft and seeks to continuously improve.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Hotwire, React, Redis, RSpec, Sidekiq, PostgreSQL, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes
