Using project management methodology, tools, and techniques the project manager is a primary point of accountability for the delivery of Vail Health projects to meet objectives; manage the day-to-day activities of assigned Vail Health projects; ensures the quality of the team’s work; manages Vail Health projects of varying complexity; maintain Vail Health Enterprise Project Mgmt. alignment, expertise and competencies; support and use Vail Health Project management methodologies and tools
- Manages and communicates a clear vision of the Vail Health projects objectives, understands and communicates the definition of completion criteria (what constitutes ‘done’), and motivates the team members.
- Collaborates with and leads cross functional teams, subject matter experts (SMEs), and a variety of disciplines and stakeholders including executives, leadership, internal operations departments, clinical teams, vendors, consultants, and external constituents.
- Assists in strategic planning and develops work plans to support the expansion of existing programs and implementation of new services.
- Coordinates the activities of project personnel, sets priorities, responsibilities, and monitors the performance of project team members.
- Organizes the activities into manageable work packages for Vail Health and team members and determines resource coordination for project deployments.
- Ensures that appropriate timing, resources, and sequencing of the work efforts are aligned to produce the desired result within a given period of time
- Supports Vail Health’s leaders in scheduling and prioritizing workload given resource constraints, managing relationships to accomplish project activities, and identify potential scope changes.
- Manages Vail Health deployment project schedules to minimize intra-project resource conflict and facility activity conflicts and maintain assertiveness to achieve goals as quickly as possible.
- Monitors project activities and reporting on status utilizing Vail Health standard reporting processes, tools, and templates.
- Coaches those working on activities to clarify assignments and deliverables, documenting, and analyzing lessons learned and sharing with others, and identifying and managing risks and issues.
- Reviews quality of work and manages integration of team members’ work.
- Validates the completion of project documentation and relevant knowledge bases
- Cultivates local and state partnerships and schedules and facilitate meetings related to Vail Health projects and initiatives.
- Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
- Five years of Technical IT PM experience in a healthcare or public health setting. This includes experience with managing cyber security, IT Networking and Infrastructure projects requiring development, planning, and implementing complex projects and programs with proven results.
- Strong computer, problem-solving and analytical skills, including data analysis.
- Deep understanding of change management processes required. Healthcare change management preferred.
- Previous experience and/or demonstrated ability to manage projects and mentor teams successfully.
- Strong organizational skills - proactively prioritizes needs and effectively manages resources.
- Customer orientation - establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations.
- Demonstrates personal traits of high motivation, team orientation, professionalism, and trustworthiness.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in a complex and fast paced environment. Strong skills in personal diplomacy with demonstrated ability to handle sensitive communications with leadership, clinical providers, legal counsel and regulatory agencies.

- Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP) preferred.
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, science, information technology, change or project management or related field required.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per year.
Yearly Pay:
$87,568 - $109,470.40 USD
