The Senior Business Development (BD) Manager will play a critical role in the Sales, Strategic Partnerships, and Sales Operations functions at UtilityAPI.  You’ll be at the nexus of all of these functions as well as support our prospective customers as we continue to scale our teams and organizational footprint in the near future.

As an important team member of the Customer Solutions team, you will be responsible for leading critical initiatives that are focused on improving UtilityAPI’s position for winning strategically important new accounts, curating new and existing partnerships, and leveraging your experience and knowledge to support anticipated exponential growth.  As our organization achieves its goals, you will also be provided opportunities for professional growth as your successes are realized.  The Senior BD Consultant will be involved as a direct contributor or project manage of a vast variety of aspects of our business which will provide you numerous pathways as your time at the company evolves.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the Sales team in critical day-to-day activities, including the identification and outreach to potential customers and partners for engagements, creation or customization of sales enablement resources to support conversations, and management of all follow-up commitments both within the Customer Solutions team as well as cross-department coordination of deliverables
  • Leverage your market knowledge to support the refinement of our Go-to-Market strategy and tactics, supporting the VP of Sales & Strategic Partnerships on a daily basis with your first hand input and thought leadership
  • Project manage assigned strategic initiatives, including leading various individual cross-functional contributors, to successful completion and deployment.
  • Internally, serve as the sales team representative and leader of formal proposal development for customers and/or partners.  In addition to sales, proposal teams will include proposal analysts, product, and technical solutions staff among others.
  • Ensure that all internal reporting requirements are met with respect to our CRM and pipeline through your oversight and assurance of information quality and timeliness.
  • Contribute to pipeline growth and movement through supporting strategic account planning and execution in partnership with VP of Sales.

Your Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in the consulting, project management, implementation, or sales in the utility industries.
  • 5+ years of experience in clean tech or utility space with current knowledge of industry trends and market dynamics.
  • Experience managing projects from conception to completion.
  • Understanding of SaaS business models and the ability to communicate technical concepts.

Compensation:

The estimated annual base salary range for this role is:

$130,000 - $150,000
