About the role

As a Senior product designer at ustwo, you’ll be in the detail tackling complex business and user problems, while collaborating with other designers, strategists, developers and delivery leads, in order to define, build, and iterate solutions for our clients and partners. Our products span mobile and web, as well as emerging technologies such as AI, wearables, and IoT devices.  We're always exploring new frontiers in technology to create innovative and compelling solutions for our clients. You’ll use your full range of design skills to help push the boundaries of what is possible.

To do this, we work across the entire product lifecycle, from visioning and discovery to validating propositions to launching products and services that are valuable to both users and businesses.

Location

This role is based in our Brooklyn studio at 20 Jay Street. We have a hybrid policy: you're required to be in the studio on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and you can choose between studio or remote work for the rest of the week. 

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking a designer with this expertise who embodies the following qualities:

  • Intuitive understanding of clients, designers, and cross-discipline team needs. 

  • Comfort with ambiguity and able to execute in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to make decisions autonomously and with support of the team.

  • Able to understand the bigger picture and can strategically and systematically assess challenges and opportunities to drive innovation and define new products/services.

  • Empathy and curiosity for the end user, driving user-centered design solutions.

  • Ability to explore and develop concepts for simple and elegant interfaces, balancing aesthetics with functionality.

  • Experienced and confident in visualizing and prototyping concepts quickly to communicate ideas.

  • Enthusiasm to explore and work with emerging technologies, staying at the forefront of digital innovation.

Your responsibilities

In this position, you will:

  • Collaborate proactively and iteratively work with various project teams and clients to achieve the best results.

  • Contribute to project vision and strategy, participating in presentations and roadmap discussions.

  • Create and refine user flows and interactions for complex systems, delivering engaging designs for global audiences across platforms while effectively managing project timelines and budgets.

  • Lead research efforts, including stakeholder interviews, user sessions, and design workshops. 

  • Give and receive feedback from other designers and cross-disciplinary partners. Someone who accepts, communicates, and resolves critique gracefully.

  • Contribute actively to the design team culture by participating in critiques, sharing inspiration, and fostering a collaborative environment.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of cross-platform design experience (Web, Android, iOS). 

  • Demonstrated product experience from discovery to scale.

  • Ability to create beautiful, functional, and delightful interfaces, with core strengths in visual design spanning UI, brand, iconography, and art direction.

  • Experience working with common prototyping tools (Origami, Framer)

  • Experience in user research and usability testing.

  • Strong knowledge of design tools and workflows.

  • Proficiency in, and examples of, how you resolve difficult design challenges.

  • A solid understanding of how behavior and transition impact design.

  • Confident storyteller with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • An interest in gaming/play is a bonus! 

Compensation and benefits

The base salary range for this full-time role is between $125,000 and $150,000. The actual salary amount within this range will depend on the candidate's experience, skillset, market knowledge, and the salaries of current employees in similar roles. We benchmark our salaries regularly against competitive market data, so these ranges are subject to change. 

Full-time employees also qualify for ustwo's Profit Share Scheme, in which the studio group shares up to one-third of operating profits with all employees, subject to hitting certain safety thresholds and targets.
