🤠 About User Interviews

At User Interviews, we believe that the best companies in the world consistently deliver products and experiences that their customers love. We also believe that the only way to consistently build those products and experiences is to talk to your customers. Watch what they do. Understand why they do what they do. Figure out why they do things that seem irrational. And once you’ve done that once, do it again. Start having continuous customer conversations. In short, make customers your #1 priority through user research.

That’s why we exist. We help teams set up those conversations, that research, allowing them to discover and embrace user insights. We work with hundreds of companies every month, including user-centric organizations like Atlassian, Amazon, and Spotify.

🚀 About The Role

You will lead a cross-functional product squad focused on our marketplace dynamics. In our Recruit marketplace, we match 4+ million people with researchers around the world to make it fast and easy to find the best research participants. The marketplace is the heart of our business and a great place for a marketplace or growth-centric PM to take ownership over a critical product area.

What is a product squad? Each squad is made up of a Product Manager (you), a Tech Lead, a Product Designer, an embedded Data Analyst, and 4+ engineers. Each squad owns an outcome and everything from the discovery of opportunities in that area through the delivery of solutions. Our baseline for this role is someone who is smart, self-motivated, and an awesome teammate (but specifics are below!).

  • Shape those opportunities into a high-level solutions and hypotheses.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to keep all relevant stakeholders up to speed.

  • Launch experiments, track the performance of recently shipped items, and report the key takeaways to the full team.
  • Establish and maintain a high bar for the quality of work you oversee.

✨ Who will be successful in this role?

  • You have led efforts from initial ideation all the way to delivery.
  • You enjoy switching back and forth between creative problem solving and analytical thinking.
  • You are a clear and effective communicator that knows how to tailor your style to the audience.
  • You are pragmatic and have a knack for navigating through ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit – you are always learning something new or tinkering on a project.
  • You incorporate user feedback into all aspects of your work and use it to drive your thinking but supplement it with your own ideas as well.
  • You are comfortable making decisions. You know when to seek consensus vs. when to make a call. You know when to prioritize speed vs. when to prioritize accuracy.
  • You have experience in marketplaces, growth product management, or other roles with a high emphasis on data and experiments.

💚 Why Join Us

  • We’re a team of doers. You’ll be fully supported by your manager and team, but there won’t be anyone peering over your shoulder. You’ll be expected and trusted to take ownership of your work, and to communicate clearly and transparently with your distributed teammates.
  • User Interviews is a fully remote team and always has been. We are proactive about staying connected to each other despite not sharing the same physical space. Remote culture is real and we care about it—a lot.
  • On a related note, we’re very pro-feedback. From our users, of course. But also from each other. From individual contributors right up to the CEO, this is a team that is genuinely committed to continuous improvement.
  • We embrace what makes you, you! We are committed to accessibility, equity, diversity, and inclusion. We build products for and welcome participants, researchers, and employees from a diverse set of backgrounds. These backgrounds include—but are not limited to—varied socioeconomic status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, race, ethnicity, age, neurodivergence, disability, and citizenship. As we grow, we are aware that this work is continuous. We will not settle for how things are, but rather strive for how they could be.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
