Come join the Talent Development & Learning Team at Upwork as a remote Sr. Leadership Development Program Lead to take our leadership development programming to a new level. We are a small team of learning specialists, and program managers helping to shape the holistic talent development strategy for employees and managers. We want leaders of all levels to walk away from our programs with a clear understanding of their role as a leader at Upwork in enabling their teams to deliver on Upwork’s mission. We are looking for a seasoned L&D expert to craft the leadership development strategy for our manager and executive population as well as a diversity of leaders at key transitions. The ideal candidate will be someone who is a leadership development expert in both content and facilitation, business-oriented, and a seasoned program manager. 

 Your Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with the People Team & leaders across Upwork to develop and launch interactive, cohesive, and intentional leadership development programming for our executive population and leaders at key transitions 

  • Building and translating the longer-term leadership development strategy into curated and intentional experiences across different modalities (virtual, in-person, peer groups, etc.)

  • Development our coaching strategy and managing the execution of our coaching program

  • Developing training content and facilitating meaningful development experiences using a neuro and social-science based approach to curriculum design and facilitation 

  • Applying an Equity and Inclusion lens to all of our leadership development program curricula

  • Ensuring smooth program implementation for leadership development programming

  • Listening to employees and managers on what works and doesn’t work to drive improvements - we want our development programs to be clear, cutting edge, and a valuable use of time for the business 

  • Working across the different people functions (L&D, DIBs, HRBPs, Workplace, etc.) to ensure we are working as a cohesive unit when launching and delivering development programs

  • Manage relationships with third-party resources, vendors and/or partners to roll out innovative leadership development programs.

  • Overseeing program evaluation and data tracking to drive improvements over time

 

What it takes to catch our eye:

  • 7-10+ years of Learning & Development, Training Program Management and/or Leadership Development experience

  • Proven history of designing and managing complex programs and successfully implementing effective training experiences

  • Proven impact integrating an inclusion and equity lens into curriculum design and development

  • Track record of proactive and effective partnerships with key stakeholders where you ensured timely delivery of services and met business needs

  • Ability to see the big picture, question existing ways of doing things, and look for ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our leadership programs

  • Positive, can-do attitude with a high level of energy and strong work ethic. 

  • Experience working in a fast-paced tech environment and is always thinking of ways technology can better enable our learning programs

The annual base salary range for this position in California and Washington is displayed below. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
