The Revenue Technical Accounting & Reporting, Sr. Manager will report to the Senior Director, Revenue Controller. This position will be responsible for technical guidance on ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers for our organization's business.  In addition, they will help drive monthly internal reporting for the Revenue Controllership team, including Period, Comparative, and Flux Analysis reporting.

This role will be a critical strategic cross-functional partner, tasked with being the direct liaison between the various business leaders and the accounting organization as well as the subject matter expert for all revenue and related technical accounting guidance.  The Senior Manager will work closely with cross-functional business teams to proactively review business transactions including contracts, term sheets, etc. to identify the appropriate revenue recognition treatment and that accounting/operations considerations are included in the design, authoring Technical Guidance memos as needed.  They will coordinate with other accounting teams to ensure accounting conclusions are appropriately and efficiently implemented, including impacts to required SEC disclosures as necessary, as well as, partner with the Internal and External reporting teams to determine P&L classification, BU Reporting, and Leadership review impacts. Finally, they will coordinate with the external audit firm on an ad-hoc basis and during regular review and audit cycles.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Drive technical accounting review for all new contracts and product initiatives, applying appropriate technical guidance (such as ASC 606) where appropriate
  • Where necessary, draft technical accounting memos and policy documents
  • Assist Senior Director & Revenue team(s) in aligning monthly & quarterly revenue reporting to best practices
  • Perform and maintain assigned internal controls, identifying control improvements when possible
  • Be a core member of new projects such as new product offerings to ensure Accounting requirements are considered 
  • Partner with FP&A to ensure Flux explanations align across the Finance function and that Accounting leadership has insight into Budget vs. Actuals for review
  • Able to discern alternatives, make objective recommendations, and understand how to work with other business groups to accomplish goals.
  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with external and internal customers including upper levels of management.communication and organization skills is a must for this position

What it takes to catch our eye:

  • Public accounting, consulting, and/or relevant industry experience
  • CPA or equivalent is a plus
  • Experience with internet marketplace business, including multiple revenue streams (Marketplace, Enterprise, Partnerships, and joint ventures
  • Extensive experience with revenue recognition, joint ventures/partnerships, M&A, and accounting operations

Preferred Experience:

  • Big 4 experience or combination of Public & Industry experience
  • 6+ years of total experience with 2+ years in Revenue Technical Accounting
  • CPA, or similar, designation
  • Experience operating in an Oracle Environment

The annual base salary range for this position in California and Washington is displayed below. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position in California and Washington, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.
