Role Overview
The Technical Project Engineer will lead supplier transition projects, manage manufacturer relationships, oversee production processes, and ensure successful product development and delivery. This role combines technical expertise with project management skills to ensure suppliers meet quality, efficiency, and timeline requirements. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can challenge suppliers when needed, solve production issues, and provide clear, professional reports to management. The Role is on an initial 6 month contract with the opportunity to move on a permanent basis based on personal and company performance.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Management:
- Act as the main technical contact for suppliers, ensuring alignment with company standards and expectations.
- Oversee supplier production processes, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Challenge suppliers on technical, quality, and timeline issues, driving continuous improvement.
- Facilitate the smooth transition of products or production lines to new suppliers, ensuring minimal disruption.
Production Oversight:
- Monitor manufacturing workflows and ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct on-site inspections or virtual reviews of supplier facilities as needed.
- Identify potential risks in production and implement corrective actions promptly.
Project Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking milestones, deliverables, and risks.
- Present clear, concise, and actionable insights to management, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Organize and maintain technical documentation related to supplier transitions and production processes.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering (or related field).
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing, e-commerce, or supplier management.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production workflows.
- Demonstrated practical experience of electrical consumer product production process, assembly and quality/safety testing at manufacturing factory.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of electrical components, related to assembly of finished components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and production plans.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Other Requirements:
- Native Mandarin and Business Proficient English Skills
- Willingness to travel to supplier sites as needed.
