The Role 

The purpose of the Director of Performance Marketing Strategy is to ensure that Unlock is staying on the forefront of cutting edge digital marketing and honing our unique strategy by keeping up to date with trends, new products & features, ensuring our team is following best practice in the industry, and exploring new platforms and offerings. This role will be responsible for leading our strategy team in our approach to responding to requests from the sales team, covering multi-channel plans that include our core tactics and beyond. The Director of Performance Marketing Strategy will also participate in RFP responses and Pitches led by the Unlock Growth team. They will keep abreast of all paid media platform offerings, policies and products and  support the scalability of the team and our ability to expand on our core offering with new platforms as the organization grows and the paid media landscape evolves.

 

What You’ll Do

Strategy Team Management & Collaboration

  • Provide direction and support to SEM and Programmatic & Social Strategists
  • Quarterly reviews for direct reports
  • Collaborate with VP, Performance Marketing on new business opportunities, renewals and upsells
  • Collaborate with new hire managers to ensure new hire trainings for each media platform are coordinated in a timely manner
  • Help to maintain and update the library of training materials and resources
  • Focus on strategic implementation of platform and product changes by developing a plan for the team; train appropriate team members on updates and ensure new procedures are being followed.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Director of Performance Marketing and Director of Tracking and Analytics to support all teams within the LOB

Sales, Client Services, Corporate Marketing, Product & Growth Team Support

  • Large-Scale Strategic Planning

○ Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization on large-scale strategic planning initiatives for clients that are complex, multi-faceted or more layered as needed

  • Budget Recommendations

○  Coordinate budget recommendations from your team for new and existing clients as requested from the Sales and Client Services  team and work collaboratively with client teams as needed, jumping in to complete budget recommendations from overflow requests as necessary.

  • RFPs

○  Assist with RFPs from a Performance Marketing client strategy perspective

○  Pull data as needed or work with data teams to gather information for RFPs as needed

  • Media Face

○  Participate in external-facing media opportunities (ad hoc) such as interviews, presentations, sound bytes, podcasts, blogs, etc.

Digital Strategy

  • Digital Strategy - Policy & Guidelines
    • Ensure the company continues to follow industry best practice as it relates to rules, guidelines, and policies regarding sensitive, healthcare related information from digital strategy perspective
      • HIPAA Compliance in Digital Strategy - Ensure Unlock is following industry best practice as well as establishing our own policies and guidelines as they relate to sensitive information.targeting as it relates to our approach.
      • Targeting Policy - Continue to develop and update Eruptr’s policy and overall stance on targeting practices including: remarketing, audience targeting, lookalike audience targeting, behavioral targeting etc.
    • Digital Strategy - Strategic Guidance
      • Support CMs/Sales/Client Leads  with ad hoc strategy & support, campaign optimizations, inquiries, etc. as needed in tandem with other resources
    • Digital Strategy - Client Support
      • Support CMs/Sales/Client Leads on select client calls from a strategy/backup perspective as needed, in tandem with other resources
    • Digital Strategy - Platforms & Products
      • Dig into & research digital strategy trends as needed for the company
      • Look into platform changes, updates, product features and trends
      • Vendor Liason: Be the main POC to our new vendor contacts as it relates to operational and functional implementation of Unlocks digital strategy with the platform. Meet with vendor as needed.
    • Digital Strategy - Organic
      • Communicate with Performance Marketing SEO team members on how to manage keyword strategy across clients with both SEO and SEM offerings.
      • Work with Director, SEO Strategy to recommend cohesive approach for SEO and SEM at a high level that can translate into individual campaign executions 
    • Digital Strategy - Deployment
      • Research next steps, strategy and provide recommendations on any deployments needed
      • Support the education, rollout and next steps of any product adoptions, updates or changes
      • Assist with implementations of initiatives as needed

 

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience with Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, DSPs, DMPs, and other paid media platforms.
  • Experience with forecasting and investment planning for paid digital strategy including SEM, Social and programmatic.
  • Experience in optimizing for SEO as part of a larger digital strategy.
  • Experience with managing a team or other relevant leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5-8 years experience in digital marketing on paid platforms - healthcare vertical preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of media planning.
  • High-level expertise on Google Ads and Meta platforms.

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Workfront or similar work management platforms
  • Solid knowledge of working in Microsoft suite
  • Experience in Healthcare Marketing
  • Experience cross collaborating with creative and web design teams
