Title: FP&A Manager

Direct Manager Title: Chief Financial Officer

 

The Role:

Unlock Health is seeking an FP&A Manager to join the team on a full-time basis. Following Unlock’s recent acquisition of SPM Group at the end of 2023, Unlock is formalizing our FP&A function. This is a new role at Unlock and is a great opportunity for the right candidate who wants to build the function from the ground up. Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions analysis, as well as proficiency in Netsuite Budgeting and Planning tool or Hyperion, and Private Equity experience are considered a plus for this role. The FP&A Manager is part of the finance team. This is a high-touch role that collaborates cross-functionally across the business. In addition to working primarily with the accounting team and client finance leads for each line of business, the FP&A Manager will liaise with managed care, performance marketing, technology, HR, and other teams for budget generation and forecasting. We are open to remote candidates located throughout mainland US. 

 

What You’ll Do:

Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Participate in the development and execution of annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, including revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Partner with senior management to develop long-term strategic plans and financial targets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the financial impact of various strategic initiatives and business decisions.

 

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Provide in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and performance metrics, to support decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business drivers and provide financial guidance and support.

Investment Analysis and Decision Support:

  • Participate in team evaluating potential investments, acquisitions, and other strategic opportunities by conducting financial due diligence, ROI analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Develop financial models and business cases to support investment decisions and provide recommendations to senior management.

Process Improvement and Efficiency:

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual processes, and implement best practices in financial planning and analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Client Finance team to make sure reports are accurate, timely and clear for non-financial stakeholders, fostering understanding and buy-in
  • Build positive relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing strategic financial guidance and support.

 

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 4-6+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis 
  • Must have experience using financial products:
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Proficiency in NetSuite (including Planning & Budgeting module)
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.

  • Experience in a private equity-backed company
  • Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions analysis.
