The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Director of SEO specialized in the healthcare industry, including Hospitals, Behavioral Health, Senior Living, health tech, and more. The ideal candidate will bring over a decade of SEO expertise, including a strong background in integrating SEO and SEM at the forefront of changing search patterns. 

The candidate should have a solid technical foundation and a proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive SEO strategies that drive significant business outcomes, as well as a clear POV on where the industry is heading and enthusiasm participating in thought leadership and new business activities alongside ongoing client work.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Partnership and Leadership: 
    • Act as a proactive partner in guiding both clients and internal teams towards unified SEO/SEM strategies, ensuring alignment with broader digital marketing objectives
    • Lead and manage a large SEO team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and high performance
  • Business Development: 
    • Take an active role in new business pitches, providing a strong point of view on industry trends and strategic direction to prospective clients
  • SEO Strategy and Execution: 
    • Develop and implement advanced SEO strategies tailored for the healthcare sector, aiming to maximize visibility and patient engagement
  • Content Strategy Collaboration: 
    • Work closely with content teams to provide strategic SEO input on content development, ensuring all content is optimized for search engines from the outset
  • Technical SEO Management: 
    • Manage technical SEO elements such as schema markup, sitemaps, redirections, and indexing to ensure optimal site performance and search engine accessibility
  • Algorithm Updates and Adaptations: 
    • Stay abreast of the latest Google algorithm updates and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain and enhance search rankings
  • Comprehensive Campaign Management: 
    • Design and execute content campaigns, backlinking strategies, and off-site linking initiatives to strengthen domain authority and search relevance
  • Site and Structure Optimization: 
    • Optimize internal linking structures and site architecture to improve user experience and support SEO goals
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: 
    • Regularly engage with clients and stakeholders, adeptly handling complex inquiries and presenting strategic insights and results confidently and clearly

Ideal Qualifications

  • Proven Track Record of Tracking ROI Outcomes: 
    • The candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of effectively tracking and analyzing ROI from various digital marketing initiatives. This includes quantifying the quality of leads generated through phone calls, form submissions, live chats, and newsletter signups, and correlating these outcomes directly with SEO efforts. They should be adept at setting up and refining analytics and tracking systems to provide detailed insights into user behavior, thereby optimizing campaigns for maximum conversion and assessing the impact of SEO activities on overall business objectives.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in SEO, with a significant focus on the healthcare industry
  • Proven track record of Advanced SEO strategy development across a wide range of top tier clients, ideally at a top SEO/Digital Marketing agency
  • Experience working on websites with 100,000s to 1,000,000s of visits per month
  • Advanced SEO reporting and SEO analytics across a range of platforms
  • Preparation of high-level presentations suitable for delivery to C-Suite executives
  • Previous management and development of mid-level SEO practitioners

Additional Skills
Hard Skills

  • Proficient with CMS platforms such as WordPress, HubSpot, Sitecore, and Drupal to manage and optimize content effectively
  • Experienced in using call tracking platforms like CallRail and Call Tracking Metrics to analyze call-based lead generation and customer engagement
  • Skilled in SEO reporting, developing detailed reports that measure success and inform future strategies
  • Extensive knowledge of technical SEO, including schema, site maps, redirects, indexation, and taxonomy
    • Experience Working with software engineers and/or web developers 
  • Proven ability to stay updated with Google algorithm changes and the implications for SEO strategies
  • Experienced in deploying successful content, backlinking, and off-site linking campaigns
    • Experience working with and managing copywriters
  • Strong understanding of content gap analysis, competitor analysis, and strategic SEO planning
  • Proficient with SEO and analytics tools such as Ahrefs, Google My Business, Google Search Console, and GA4
  • Experience in managing paid search campaigns and integrating them with organic search efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of clients, adapting strategies to meet unique needs and goals
