About the role:

Unison is looking for versatile, collaborative, and detail oriented part-time contract-to-hire Legal Operations Associate. This role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to identify and drive process improvements.

This is a part-time (20 hours a week minimum), hybrid position with a requirement of 3 days in our Omaha, Nebraska office. 

Responsibilities:

  • Litigation support - review and retrieve documents in event of litigation, regulatory, or asset management matters.
  • Vendor management - help select, onboard, administer, and improve efficiencies with outside counsel and other vendors; communicate with vendors, law firms, and finance team related to invoicing and accruals. 
  • Knowledge management - compiling and maintaining legal guides and knowledge databases.
  • Technology and process support - identify and implement tools and/or processes to help innovate and automate legal processes to increase efficiency.
  • Budget - helping manage, understand, and better enable financial management of the legal department.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

About you: 

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in legal operations, as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in another legal role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office, Google Suite skills, and/or ability and willingness to learn new software programs.
  • Experience with and/or demonstrated desire to learn legal operations.
  • Self-starter who can identify and initiate projects.
  • It’s a bonus if you have: 
    • Litigation support experience.
    • Experience with financial services and/or consumer facing industries.
