We are looking for our next extraordinary Data Governance Analyst II to level-up the Enterprise Information Management Team in Costa Mesa!

The Data Governance Analyst II role within the Enterprise Information Management organization is responsible for assurance that data is appropriately governed from various sources to ensure data integrity and information usability for decision making. This is accomplished by applying data management principles in cross functional settings across both business and technical stakeholders.

In this hybrid business-technical role, you will work closely with other enterprise teams to support the operations of Data Governance by ensuring system metadata, dictionaries, business glossaries, data lineage, and data security is maintained/monitored. This is an opportunity to interact with both technical partners (ETL developers, integration developers, data stewards, DBAs, architects), business partners, and leadership.

We’re looking for a hands-on person who’s capable of driving the importance of data governance and passionate about data quality for “data driven” decisions, if this is you then you’re exactly who we’re seeking. Your usual day of awesomeness includes:

  • Analyze and profile data to assess quality variances from data standards while working with technical and business stakeholders to ensure continuous process improvement.
  • Support the documentation of requirements for data governance related projects by analyzing systems and data to support the documentation of metadata including data dictionaries and business glossaries.
  • Assess operational processes to ensure (data profiling/metadata/lineage) are maintained, updated, and automated processes are developed/enhanced.
  • Develop data quality monitoring against operational data sources and data lake/warehouse utilizing data governance tools to ensure adherence to standards with continuous improvement goals.
  • Develop data quality scorecards according to data quality dimensions and by appropriate data domain to baseline and monitor for improvement goals.
  • Support the documentation of requirements for data governance related projects by analyzing systems and data to support the documentation of metadata including data dictionaries and business glossaries.
  • Conduct and participate in meetings with key system owners to understand current data and system environments, resolve source data issues, and refine transformation rules.


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in a data governance or data management roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in a business/data analyst or BI/reporting roles.
  • Technical capability for system design, data governance, business strategy and tactics, and an ability to translate strategy into desired outcomes.
  • Experienced in multiple relevant topics such as data warehousing, master data management, data security, information design, analytics, data science, and knowledge management.
  • Knowledge of data management best practices, processes, tools, standards, and methodologies including common frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).  
  • Knowledge of data structures such as columnar, unstructured data, data lakes, APIs, data virtualization, data warehousing, data visualization, predictive analytics, statistics, and analytic models.
  • Experience with commercial solutions used for API management.
  • Experience in at least one major foundational language such as SQL, Python, R, C#.NET, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Experienced building reporting/dashboards/scorecards leveraging BI/Reporting Tools (Looker, Tableau) or other data visualization software.
  • Detail oriented, having the ability to focus on details while still seeing the broader picture.
  • Ability to work through a problem logically, identify root causes, provide practical effective solutions while being detail and process oriented.
  • Excellent written, visual, oral communication skills, ability to communicate with key business partners clearly and succinctly.
  • Proven ability to inspire confidence, create executive presentations, effectively present information, and guide strategic discussions.
  • Strong project management skills to plan, prioritize, and deliver daily data governance operations deliverables.
  • A self-starter who can work without continuous supervision and is highly organized.
  • Team Player - results-driven individual, highly creative, analytical, a strategic thinker, having an ability to work comfortably in a collaborative setting, highly organized, and an ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines.
