Position Summary:

Reporting to General Manager of Ultragenyx Mexico, The Senior Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing innovative marketing initiatives for the Ultragenyx portfolio of products heavily externally focused, building credible and productive relationships between Ultragenyx and the medical community. The role involves the planning and execution of best-in-class annual marketing/brand plans that are based on deep marketing knowledge and previously successful rare disease and biopharmaceutical marketing experience. Leadership and expertise in forecasting, market modeling and achieving sales objectives will be expected. The successful candidate will be working in conjunction with the General Manager (GM), and local Medical Affairs, Commercial and Government Affairs and Market Access teams. As a growing organization it is expected that the candidate will participate in other business activities to support the growth of the company.

Work Model: 

Flex: This role will typically require onsite work 2-3 days each week, or more depending on business needs. In many locations, the business will set certain days each week that Flex employees are required to be onsite.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of marketing initiatives for Mexico, monitor the progress of these initiatives and adjust appropriately to optimize success and ensure achievement of business and sales objectives.
  • Responsible for managing execution of plans and budgets; ensure on-time delivery within budget of all marketing initiatives.
  • Build sales forecast and market models for short and long term ranges with the commercial team
  • Select and manage appropriate vendors for marketing initiatives.
  • Understand strategic product needs and translate those needs into the creation of effective digital and non-digital campaigns.
  • Execute commercial advisory boards, other HCP engagements and market researches to support market understanding of Ultragenyx products and inform strategic and tactical planning and implementation.
  • Brainstorm new and creative strategies and tactics aligned with global strategic imperatives for each product.
  • Identify issues that could potentially create barriers to optimal patient management and provide solutions.
  • Build and develop meaningful business relationships with HCPs across Mexico
  • Ensure that all promotional activities, materials and marketing programs are adherent to industry guidelines and corporate policies for ethics and compliance.
  • Lead promotional material development through MRC process
  • Work cross-functionally and partner with commercial and non-commercial teams to deliver on impactful projects.
  • Collaborate, engage and partner with necessary external stakeholders across Mexico
  • Manage events and congress initiatives including messages, booth design and promotional materials.
  • Partner with commercial colleagues and the costumer facing field teams providing training and ensuring field teams are appropriately prepared to deploy marketing programs
  • Support marketing strategy and execution for Central America working closely with business partner’s marketing area

Requirements:

  • Business Administration or life sciences degree or equivalent qualification required. MBA or Master in marketing preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of marketing experience, as product manager, in the biopharmaceutical industry with preference in high cost specialty therapeutic areas and/or rare diseases.
  • Expertise in biopharmaceutical product launch is a must.
  • Comfort working in startup environments and working to define process and forge new operating principles with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen, allowing the successful candidate to understand business drivers for individual products and translate them into solid marketing tactics.
  • Successful candidates will have a proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of collaborations and a strong patient focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act creatively.
  • Proven experience in partnering with field teams and managing external partners (advertising and communication agencies)
  • Ability to assess and develop a plan and execute, but openness to seek guidance as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize decisions and activities to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Excellent leadership, presentations and communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Travel will be required when appropriate.
