Position Summary:

ultraimpact – Make a difference for those who need it most

 

  • To coordinate and support unsolicited requests for Named Patient reimbursement and supply
  • To plan and execute national launches of commercial medicinal products
  • To engage with local authorities to ensure sustainable reimbursement of our brands in line with defined price corridors
  • To build sustainable relationships with key stakeholders in Switzerland (KOLs, Patient Advocates, Policy Makers, Payers)
  • To contribute to the development of Ultragenyx’s future portfolio by supporting clinical development in Switzerland
  • To manage, shape and leverage a positive internal and external environment in order to build and protect the business and reputation of Ultragenyx and its brands.
  • To demonstrate the credibility of Ultragenyx and its technologies with the relevant authorities and healthcare professionals, ensuring overall compliance of strategic and field activities, representing the company interests in industry / trade associations and proactive issue management

Work Model: 

Field: Officially documented as working as a member of the Ultragenyx field team, generally interacting with third parties on behalf of Ultragenyx.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing Ultragenyx’s business in Switzerland
  • Preparing successfully launches of commercial medicinal products
    • Develop relationships with key national stakeholders (KOLs, patient advocates, buyers, policy makers)
    • Planning and execution of a local supply chain strategy in cooperation with EU supply chain to ensure undisrupted supply to local customers
    • Conduct price negotiations with health insurances
    • Plan and execute initiatives for identification of patients by medical education, disease awareness and diagnostic support
    • Prepare and execute annual commercial plan
    • Prepare and execute stakeholder engagement plan
    • Prepare and execute strategic account plans
  • Pipeline compounds:
    • Conduct market analyses in Ultragenyx’s future indications
    • Identify KOLs and patient organizations
    • Generate insights about local treatment and diagnosis paradigms and facilitate exchange with international peers
    • Propose participants for clinical trials and support Clinical Development
  • Organization of participation at national and regional Medical & Educational Congresses and Exhibitions.
  • Represent Ultragenyx to national authorities
  • Local planning of product demand and discretionary expenses
  • Monitor changes in local health care system and analyze impact on Ultragenyx business

Requirements:

Minimum:

  • University degree in Medicine/Biology/Chemistry/Pharmacy or equivalent degree
  • Intimate knowledge of the national health care system and valid permission to work in Switzerland
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial or medical affairs secondary care with a proven success record in product launches in highly specialized therapeutic areas
  • Experience in key opinion leader engagement
  • Experience in organization of educational events
  • Capable and willing to engage with customers face to face as well as with digital communication technology
  • Analytical skills
  • Thorough knowledge of industry code of conduct and relevant legislation

 Desirable:

  • Experienced in marketing and sales of Orphan Drugs
  • First-hand experience with national reimbursement system
  • Established contacts with opinion leaders in lipidology and metabolic medicine

Other job/personal requirements

  • Valid Driver’s license (EU type B) mandatory
  • Able to undertake regular travel by road and rail, including overnight stays
  • Experienced in using MS Office software
  • Digitally-savvy in online communication and social media
  • Fluent in Swiss German and French (written and verbal skills at least C1 level). Knowledge of Italian is an additional asset. Good English language skills to allow efficient scientific reading in the disease area and to communicate internally and externally on an international level #LI-CK1 #LI-Remote
