ABOUT THE JOB
As a Financial Controller, it will be your responsibility to analyze and assist with our monthly close process to ensure timely reporting and information. We expect you to understand, in detail, the general ledger and the various activities the company is involved in, to recognize how accounting guidance should be applied.
You will be part of the Finance department, working closely with and reporting to the Group Financial Controller.
- Manage all accounting operations including (billing, cost accounting, etc);
- Prepare financial statements and review variances with team to ensure accuracy and completion;
- Work closely with your peers, regularly and in great detail, to ensure accuracy;
- Manage VAT (BTW) filing requirements;
- Support month-end and year-end close process;
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance;
- Prepare, record and review journal entries, as necessary;
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting;
- Liaison with various departments to collaborate and complete tasks;
- Develop process improvement suggestions for the accounting group, and enhance overall department organization;
- Strengthen internal controls;
- Development of internal control policies and procedures;
- Additional controller duties which come up on the go.
ABOUT YOU
- HBO+ or WO in a Business, Accounting or Financial field;
- 3 to 5 years+ financial and/or accounting experience;
- In your work you keep an eye on every little single detail; no hidden mistake exists that you wouldn’t spot in a blink of an eye;
- You are a real perfectionist, who strives to deliver the best possible results;
- You are inconceivably passionate about saving money and making smart financial decisions;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others both in- and outside of your department;
- You have a deep understanding of the business and the numbers behind it, so you know the best decision;
- You easily find the common ground with all kinds of people and proactively approach others to get the job done;
- A drive to work independently and under pressure to meet strict deadlines;
- You master both English and Dutch on a high level.
