About the Position 

Like building platforms and tools, hard technical challenges, and enabling video content creators to earn a living doing what they love? Do you have a passion for leading engineers and setting direction for an entire company? If so, you’d be a great fit for the Engineering Manager role in the Builder Platform team. The Builder Platform team provides tools and solutions for all of engineering at Twitch, making it the best place for engineers to build.

You will:

  • Lead the team that creates the engineering platform for all of Twitch
  • Interact with internal customers to find their pain points and develop solutions alongside them
  • Work with internal AWS teams to provide feedback and influence roadmap
  • Aid in company wide availability and security
  • Mentor the entire company in engineering best practices
  • Make Twitch more productive

A perfect fit for this environment requires you to be:

  • Technically deep with knowledge of AWS and build systems
  • Customer focused, able to engage engineering teams across both Twitch and Amazon
  • A strong engineering leader, focused on quality and delivery
  • Curious about new technologies and eager to learn

Responsibilities

  • Lead an engineering team to deliver quality software with accurate timelines
  • Mentor and develop engineers
  • Communicate clearly with all of Twitch engineering
  • Participate in roadmapping, goal setting and regular reporting of progress
  • Design solutions and tools to alleviate customer pain points

Requirements 

  • 4+ years as an Engineering Manager in a fast paced company
  • Strong familiarity with AWS
  • Experience with deployment and development tools
  • History of working with internal customers

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of Go and its ecosystem
  • Experience with a monitoring / alarming solution (Cloudwatch or otherwise)
  • Experience running high TPS distributed systems
