We are looking for an outstanding Research Associate to join our Biopharma Team in South San Francisco.

We are seeking an outstanding, innovative, and creative Research Associate to join our antibody discovery efforts. The Research associate will play multiple roles within the Biopharma group and will work within a team responsible for antibody discovery utilizing a number of in vitro display technologies, e.g. phage display, ribosome display, and yeast display.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phage display library panning to both soluble protein and cell membrane targets
  • Help with library construction using various molecular cloning skills like PCR, restriction, ligation and DNA gel purification, and library bacteria transformation
  • Run DNA sequencing by Illumina NGS and Sanger methods, summarize sequencing results and be able to design necessary sequencing primers
  • Conduct 96 and 384 well format ELISA assays
  • Record the experimental findings and present to supervisor and group meeting
  • Perform high throughput primary binding assays with augmentation of automation
  • Work collaboratively under aggressive timeline

Qualifications

  • Your educational background includes a BS/MS in molecular biology, protein engineering, biological chemistry, or related discipline.  BS 2+ years of relevant experience; or MS degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience

  • Extensive experiences in molecular biology and antibody engineering methods and applications
  • You are excited to learn new techniques and work collaboratively with others
  • You thrive in a dynamic, quickly changing environment where we work individually and on teams
  • Extensive skills in molecular biology and antibody engineering field
  • Experience with antibody phage, ribosome or yeast display preferred
  • Experience in antibody characterization, and hands-on experience with automated platform
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment 
  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills a must
  • Self-motivated and passionate about delivering world-class DNA-based products.

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.
