Twilio is seeking a Network Engineer who will build, operate and support the global corporate network infrastructure for our offices global ling and AWS cloud. Being part of the IT Netops team, the network engineer will be involved in the design, building, management and operation of the rapidly expanding corporate network worldwide to support the fast growth of Twilio.

Who?

Twilio is looking for an experienced Network Engineer L3 who lives the Twilio Magic to build and maintain our global corporate network. The network engineer should have:

  • 3+ years of experience with building campus and/or data center network infrastructure, AWS cloud services and networking
  • 3+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches and Palo Alto Networks firewalls with 7+ years of overall IT experience
  • 3+ years experience with AWS cloud services and networking
  • Advanced knowledge of IEEE 802 standards and core IETF networking protocols including 802.11 suite, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching protocols
  • Hands on knowledge of network monitoring
  • Knowledge of network security to implement security policy for compliance
  • Proficient skill in Windows, Mac, Linux client networking
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and its application in a network environment
  • Experience in troubleshooting network problems at different OSI model layer
  • College degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • CCNA/CCNP Certification preferred. AWS certification preferred
  • Fluent in English

What?

As a Network Engineer, you will live the Twilio Magic.

  • DON’T SETTLE: Respond to incidents, engage in network troubleshooting activities to settle root cause and resolve network issues
  • RUTHLESSLY PRIORITIZE: Prioritize projects and tickets based on business priorities using the Agile framework.
  • DRAW THE OWL: Develop methods and tools to be used to test and implement new LAN/WAN systems. Analyze the current network structure and collaborate on how to make the network more efficient, scalable and sustainable. Develop strategies to efficiently and sustainably maintain and upgrade network systems
  • BE AN OWNER & BE BOLD: Design, operate and support the global Twilio IT network infrastructure. Keep track of network assets, including network hardware and software. Monitor the network performance, availability, utilization, throughput and latency, providing measurable metrics to the IT leadership team. Procure and provision network circuits based on the network design.
  • WRITE IT DOWN: Create and maintain documentation for network design, IT network standards and process.
  • EMPOWER OTHERS: Work closely with local and remote teams to resolve current and future network needs.
